Have you heard about the golf gizmo that promises more distance and improved accuracy without changing your swing?

There’s a good chance those promises have been around since Old Tom Morris was plodding along The Old Course back when it was a new course, so we’ll be more specific.

FlightPath Golf Tees promise “superior distance, accuracy, and durability compared to standard tees.” As the kids say, big if true.

We got our hands on a set of FlightPath tees and compared them head-to-head against standard wooden tees to find out if there’s truth to the claims. This FlightPath Golf Tees review covers everything you need to know.

There are two types of golfers out there. Those who hear “golf tees for longer and straighter shots” and reach for their wallet, and those who want to throw their phone or computer out the window.

I’ve been both, so before rushing to judgment, let’s hear how exactly FlightPath tees are supposed to work.

Before we dive into the tech, it’s worth mentioning that FlightPath golf tees are legal, and conform to USGA Rules for tournament play.

Unlike most tees, FlightPath tees aren’t perfectly symmetrical from a face-on viewpoint. Instead, the tees have a target line arrow which you must point towards your target. The two prongs on the back of the tee sit 10 degrees higher than the prong in front. FlightPath explains that this design reduces spin, which adds distance.

Meanwhile, the design of the tee creates less friction between the tee and the ball, which FlightPath says is responsible for reducing sidespin and improving accuracy.

I don’t know much about physics, so rather than investigate whether these theories check out, I just wanted to test out the tees for myself.

Do FlightPath Golf Tees Work?

In more of an old fashioned test than a scientific experiment, I took a pack of FlightPath golf tees, along with my trusty standard wooden tees and Rapsodo MLM2Pro launch monitor, to the driving range to see how they compared head-to-head.

If there is any performance difference between the two sets of tees, I couldn’t parse it out from the numbers I collected in my test.

I hit dead-straight and wildly offline drives with both sets of tees. Some went miles, some didn’t, regardless of which tee they came off.

I did the same thing with my 3-wood and again couldn’t discern a performance difference between the two.

That’s not to say a more scientific experiment wouldn’t produce different results, but it was enough to convince me that since I’m not a robot, any performance gains I get from a tee are more than offset by the variability of my swing and ball-striking.

While FlightPath contends it can help you hit the ball farther and straighter, that’s not all it promises. Remember, FlightPath also prides itself on durability.

That’s an area I can say FlightPath surely did deliver. During my testing, hitting drivers and 3-woods, I never broke a FlightPate tee. While FlightPath tees aren’t technically indestructible, they are certainly durable. If you don’t lose them, I can see an eight-pack lasting an absurdly long time for a set of tees.

Final Destination

When you consider just how long a pack for FlightPath tees can last compared to standard wooden tees that can often only withstand one or two swings, and add in the possibility of distance and accuracy benefits, it’s easy to make the case for giving FlightPath tees a try.

My advice, however, after testing out the FlightPath tees, is to keep your expectations for game-changing, or even noticeable, performance benefits to a minimum and you might not be let down.

In the meantime, we’ll keep searching for the next gizmo for longer and straighter shots without changing your swing.
