One trick in teaching I learned a long time ago was to actually teach the finish position first. Now that seems odd because there might be a lot of things going wrong in your golf swing but I have found that if you practice going to a pro finish you will learn a lot of great things. For one you will learn to balance your body, you will learn how to relax your arms at the finish, you will get the club into great position. Now let’s take a look at a great finish position. I will turn to different angles so that you can see that. If I turn this way and go through I am looking at the target, you will notice that I am still tilted just a slight bit towards the golf ball used to be, or towards the target line. Do not allow yourself to lean away from it in this fashion. So it should be just a slight tilt of the shoulders to the right. Another really important thing is that my back shoulder, my right shoulder, is closer to the target than my left shoulder. Very important. My weight is fully over on my left leg. My back foot comes right up on to the toe and adds just as a prop, it is just a balance point. All of my weight is fully forward and my hips have turned towards the target or even a little bit left of the target. Those are a couple of key points. The other thing that I love to tell people is the relaxed finish, when you go here, is to just relax the arms. Now the trick I mentioned in teaching was when get people to just practice in going to that good finish, a lot of these other problems disappear without me having to tell them. You might try it and find that a lot of things improve just by going to the pro finish.
