How Many Clubs Are in a Golf Set?

A traditional golf set has 13 clubs: three woods, nine irons (including three wedges) and one putter. The USGA limits the number of clubs a player may carry in his or her bag to 14. A player may include an additional wedge or wood to a fill a gap in hitting distance.
