How to Get Refunds for Canceled PGA Tour Events

The PGA Tour has now officially suspended play until at least May 10, leading to 8 events being outright cancelled, with several more postponed like the 2020 Masters. For folks with tickets for these events, many are left looking for a refund. Here is a list of cancelled events and how to get your money back. The following are links to refunds along with excerpts from the tournament organizers. 
 


Players Championship (March 9-15)

“HOW GENERAL ADMISSION STADIUM PASSES AND CAPTAIN'S CLUB TICKETS WILL BE REFUNDED FOR FRIDAY MARCH 13 - SUNDAY MARCH 15

For purchases made through THEPLAYERS.com via Ticketmaster, a refund will be issued automatically from Ticketmaster. To check on the status, visit https://www.ticketmaster.com/h/returns.html or call (800-653-8000).

For General Admission Stadium Passes or Captain's Club purchases made through the phone or the PGA TOUR APP, a refund will be issued automatically. To check on the status of your refund, please fill out the form below. Please note: if you purchased a ticket via a PGA TOUR Sales agent or the PGA TOUR App, Ticketmaster representatives will not be able to provide an update on the status of your refund. 

For purchases made through third party purchases (i.e. StubHub, Seat Geek, Vivid Seats, etc.) please reach out to the agency where the ticket was purchased.

Parking passes will receive a refund from ParkMobile.  Refund requests can be made by calling (866-330-7275).

Refunds will only be issued to the original purchaser”

 

Valspar Championship (March 16-22)

“The PGA TOUR has announced that due to the ongoing health crisis, all PGA TOUR events through the first week of April, including next week’s Valspar Championship, have been cancelled. This includes all other tournament activities, including the Valspar LIVE concert.
The health and safety of our fans, players, sponsors, volunteers and community-at-large remains our top priority.

Individually purchased tickets via Ticketmaster will be refunded in the next 7-10 business days. You do not need to request a refund.

If you purchased your ticket at a Publix Super Market, please return to the store with your ticket to get a refund before March 31, 2020.

If you purchased tickets at Hooters Restaurants, take the tickets with the receipt to the Hooters restaurant where they were originally purchased and you will be refunded via your original method of payment. Please make sure to bring the credit card used for the purchase.”

 

WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play (March 23-29) 

“Original ticket purchasers will be refunded by their original method of purchase. Please see below for details.

GENERAL ADMISSION GROUNDS AND ULTRA CLUB TICKETS
For purchases made through www.delltechnologiesmatchplay.com via Ticketmaster, a refund will be issued automatically from Ticketmaster. To check on the status, visit https://www.ticketmaster.com/h/returns.html or call (800-653-8000).

For General Admission Grounds or ULTRA Club purchases made through Account Manager, by phone, or through the PGA TOUR APP, a refund will be issued automatically. To check on the status of your refund, please fill out the form below. Please note: if you purchased a ticket via the phone or the PGA TOUR App, Ticketmaster representatives will not be able to provide an update on the status of your refund.

Valero Texas Open (March 30-April 5)

“Valero Texas Open Tournament Statement
The PGA TOUR announced that due to the ongoing health crisis, events starting with the second round at THE PLAYERS Championship through AT&T Byron Nelson have been cancelled. As such, the Valero Texas Open professional competition along with all other tournament week activities have been cancelled.

Refunds are currently underway and will be processed within the next 30 days for individual ticket purchases.

The health and safety of our fans, players, sponsors, volunteers and community-at-large remains our top priority.

We look forward to seeing you at the Valero Texas Open next year, April 1-4, 2021.”

 

RBC Heritage (April 13-19) 

“2020 TICKET REFUND INFORMATION
The Heritage Classic Foundation would like to thank you for your dedication and support through this unprecedented time. The PGA TOUR announced the cancellation of tournaments through May 10th including the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing scheduled for April 13-19, 2020.

The PGA TOUR made the announcement after recently published recommendations regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing will be back April 12-18, 2021 with renewed energy to generate revenue for the community and charitable dollars for the Heritage Classic Foundation’s registered charities.

We would like to offer you three options regarding your 2020 RBC Heritage ticket purchase.

1. Donate to the Heritage Classic Foundation (a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization)
The RBC Heritage raises $3 million dollars annually for local charities and has a yearly economic impact of $102 million for the state of South Carolina. The Foundation relies on RBC Heritage ticket sales to fund the majority of its giving programs.

2. Secure your tickets for 2021 RBC Heritage now
We will send you the same tickets for the 2021 tournament.

3. Full refund (Does not include $10 service charge)
Your purchase will be refunded to your original payment method.”

 

Zurich Classic of New Orleans (April 20-26) 

“ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS 2020 HAS BEEN CANCELLED
The PGA TOUR announced that due to the ongoing health crisis, the 2020 Zurich Classic of New Orleans has been cancelled.

The health and safety of our fans, players, sponsors, and volunteers is our top priority.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process.

We truly appreciate your support of our event, which allows us to have an incredible impact on the lives of children in our region.

We hope to see you at the 2021 Zurich Classic!

2020 Zurich Classic Refund Policy
All tickets and packages purchased through our website, www.zurichgolfclassic.com, or through the tournament office will be automatically refunded.

If you purchased a Suite or Pro-Am package, you will be contacted directly about your refund. Please call 504-342-3000 with any questions.”

 

Wells Fargo Championship (April 27-May 3)

“Individual ticket purchases will be refunded automatically within 15-30 days. Individuals do not need to do anything to obtain their refund for tickets. We appreciate your patience, we are working through the process as quickly as possible.“

 

AT&T Byron Nelson (May 4-10)

“OUR COURSE OF ACTION
The PGA TOUR has announced due to the ongoing health crisis, all tournaments through May 10 have been cancelled. This includes the AT&T Byron Nelson.

While we are deeply saddened we will not be playing in 2020, the health and safety of our players, fans, sponsors, volunteers, and community-at-large remains our top priority.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of all those impacted as we work through this process. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster.com will be refunded in the coming weeks. Please consider making a donation to the cause this tournament supports.”
