Scotty Cameron Putter Reviews

By Brad Wilbricht

Arguably the premier putter brand on the market, Scotty Cameron putters are featured in the bags of numerous playing professionals and now many amateur golfers. Scotty Cameron's 2009 lineup includes the likes of the Studio Select, Circa '62 and Red X putter series. In addition, newer innovative designs such as the Studio Select Kombi and Detour offer more of a game improvement-type putter for golfers with less experience. Several different options are available in each series, including the ever-popular Newport model.

Scotty Cameron's precise milled putter heads are second to none and provide golfers with ultimate consistency and feel. Few competing putter brands can offer the eloquent design and technological advancements that Scotty Cameron putters are known for. Scotty Cameron putters are precision milled with 303 stainless-steel heads allowing for maximum quality and durability. In addition, new models are equipped with interchangeable weights allowing users to customize their putter setup.

Due to the overwhelming demand for Scotty Cameron putters, expect to pay a premium for past or present models. Although Scotty Cameron has been introducing an increasing number of game improvement-type putters, his putters, the choice of many tour professionals, aren't necessarily an ideal fit for amateurs. Other brands such as Odyssey or Nike are more geared toward mid to high handicappers.

Bottom Line

For avid golfers and highly accomplished players, owning a Scotty Cameron putter is a necessity. On the other hand, with several user-friendly models now on the market, Scotty Cameron putters are available to more golfers than in years past.
