Adams Driver Review

By Eric Cornelison

The larger clubheads which have become popular in the market only increases drag and slows down the speed, so Adams reduced the face area on its Speedline driver and made the head more aerodynamic, which in turn reduced the drag of the head through the swing. This increases the clubhead speed from 3 to 4 mph and distance up to 9 more yards. The 45.5-inch ProLaunch Axis shaft gives the driver a softer feel and cuts down on vibration during impact. This club also comes in a draw model and is priced at about $300.

You will get a higher launch and longer carry with this driver. The smaller face encourages more center hits, which in turn, gives you a more consistent ball flight. The driver works an easy fade when you want one.

The shaft feels a little weak, so if you hit a regular shaft try hitting a stiff shaft. You also will be losing some moments of inertia compared with what you get with other drivers in the price range.

Bottom Line

It seems Adams has gone back to what the driver was all about and others have overlooked. A good solid driver which will increase your distance and speed and not just cover up off-center hits.
