Dominican Republic Golf Vacation Overview
The Dominican Republic continues to reflect an old-world charm. Siesta is still observed and all businesses close between the hours of 1 and 3 PM. You will find the capital, Santa Domingo, a treasure trove of ancient cathedrals, palaces, forts, museums, and restored mansions.
It has a population of over 6,000,000 people and a land area of 9,100 square miles. The language is Spanish, the time zone is atlantic and the currency is the peso. A US driver's license is valid; driving is on the right. Upon entry, visitors must show a passport.
The Dominican Republic charges entrance and departure taxes of $10 per person. They will accept nothing but US funds for these fees, so be sure to save enough to pay the exit fee. Also, when you attempt to change your pesos back into dollars, you will find they refund only up to 30% of the total you changed from US dollars.
