Short, mom and pop design in mediocre shape. This place has a small maintenance budget and is somewhat run down. However there is lots of wildlife around and it's cheap, so may be worth a round if you're golf-starved.

Don't waste your time. It's horribly maintained, there are no amenities to speak of and the owner is a major jerk. Their carts are in horrible shape and are likely to leave you stranded someplace. If this is the only course within 20 miles, drive 25 miles and find another. It isn't worth your time and your patronage won't be appreciated either.

This might be the worst golf course I have ever played. If I had to play there everyday I would give the game up period. Blind shots, poor conditioning and bad layout make for a miserable experience. Don't waste your time playing this goat track.

Barbour Country Club: A 9-hole course that changes drastically from spring to summer.

As an ex-member of this country club, I believe this golf course to be somewhere slightly above the "middle of the pack". Modern technology has made this golf course play much shorter which is why the rating is at 33. In the spring, the greens hold well where as summer rolls on they become harder and you must pick your spots. Obviously, this course plays longer in the spring. This doesent mean that it is any easier in the summer however, for accuracy and finesse become crucial as you get more bounce and roll. There are many sidehill and downhill lies and if you go for the greens you had better hit the middle. Anything hit off to the left or right edges of the greens will get you in trouble from early June on. This golf course can be played with a driver and mid to short irons. It is not the kind of golf course that will allow better golfers to hit all of their clubs but will still test accurracy. Greens are generally small but are moderately quick and on some holes have some sharp side or downhill breaks. Many speed type putts. A decent golfer should score well here and may not find it extremely challenging but if you're off your game, there are many oppertunites for this course to bite you. The clubhouse is decent for a course of this size and serves an adequate menu in a casual atmosphere. The major drawback is that being a public golf course, it becomes overcrowded and the play will be miserably slow at times. This is par for the course for most 9 hole courses, that is why I give it 3 stars and a slightly above the middle of the pack rating.
