This is exactly what a resort course should be. The supersized greens and ultra wide fairways promotes stress free play. However, do not get fooled - there is plenty of opportunities to make mistakes. The greens are very fast and it is easy to three putt (or even four putt). The rough is fair but depending on the lie can add strokes.
It is one of the better maintained courses I have played.
The people may have gotten the message from previous reviews because the people were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that we had to ask to have a cooler with ice put on the cart - they should have asked - it was in hot and sunny every day we played at the Glades. Warm up for the Stonehaven and then Woodhaven on this course or end up playing here after you have played those and this will seem like a walk in the park.

If you are looking for just golf and a great course, Cobb is definitely it. It is a great course. Very good condition, challenging and fun. The greens were lightning fast when we played on Aug 07. Even though this is a great course, I'll have to ask my self twice before going back again. The staff were not friendly at all and the overall resort is a "wanna-be" resort...they want to be a high end resort, but aren't there yet. I've played a lot of courses and stayed at a lot of great resorts....but Glade needs to really focus on this area. A $4 hot dog (again don't mind paying $4 at a resort) but it was horiible. Sandwiches at teh course were dried out and old. They were out of everything..only had 3 stogey's on the premises. We were supposed to tee of at 8:57 am but it was so backed up because they let a group out early that we were an hour late teeing off and missed our second tee time on stonehaven. They told us we were out of luck for being late. Only have some major griping did they let us start our game on hole 3 in front of others.

I would suggest some service focus at glade..make sure all your folks put on a friendly smile and concentrate on the guests. Your courses are phenomenal....

Classical layout with a modern bite

First impressions of the cobb course are very reassuring. Wide landing areas, well groomed rough, and king sized greens. But as you begin to maneuver your way through Cobb you begin to realize that the fairways are deceptivly narrow, the rough is large and deep, and the greens are FAST and rolling. This course quickly lulls you into a false sense of security before proptly destroying the egos of the unawares. That being said, after my first round at the cobb I must say that it was different but in no way inferior to its younger sister Stonehaven. While not as exotic as Stonehaven, Cobb posesses all the charm and challenge that a classical layout course should offer. Excelent course, but be prepaired.
