Hard to believe this course has not been rated since 2012. The spectacular new club house opened more than a year ago. The course is a stunner, a real challenge for me (7 handicap, playing from the 6300 yard markers). Lots of forced carries (14 holes) and elevation changes. Greens can be fast or slow, depending upon the season and the cut, but if they are fast, watch out! This is Northwest Mountain golf at its finest. They have been dumbing it down over the years to make it easier, but when I achieve my fantasy of owning the course, I plan to restore it to its original malevolent beauty.

What happened here. Maintenance of golf course seems non-existent. Big clubhouse coming?

Solid course. Some of the fairways are brown, but overall for the price not a bad play. Greens are huge, generous landing areas in the fairways if you play your distances correctly.

Lots of distance between greens and tees, many many uneven lies in fairways, ball either above (mostly) or below your feet. Course in excellent condition, still a little wet (to be expected with this winter) greens excellet.

Everything that the previous reviewers said was true. I am visiting the area and took their reviews seriously and went to play. It's a beautiful course with only a few blind shots, even though it's very mountainous. The conditioning was much better than I expected. The staff should put some sand on the carts, so you could fill your own divots. For the $45 green fee that I paid as a senior, it's one of the best courses I've ever played at this price. Since the cart paths are very winding, they have signage on the paths to slow down..steep grade..etc. Also good directions on the paths to the next tee. The staff was very friendly as were other golfers. When I finished my round as a single, I was invited to join a group of women who had played ahead of me for a beer on the patio.

A true jewel of the Northwest...

I have played this course for the last 10 years. A MUST for anyone within 200 miles that has not played here yet. There are many forced carries, and severe elevation changes, along with stunning views of Skagit county. The clubhouse is still in a trailer (you wouldnt hardly notice), but is very nicely stocked, and always helpful and friendly. Carts are included in the greens fee, as this course is not walker friendly. (I've done it...exhausting) Unbelievable views of Mount Baker on a few holes. Very well maintained, even though the bunkers are somewhat shallow. The future clubhouse will be located where #13-14 are now. Hopefully they build it sometime soon, because it will sit on a cliff and have a marvelous view of Puget Sound.
