I took a 9 hole lesson with Dave Jankowski throughly enjoyed it not to mention when I played today many of his suggestions improved my game. Thank you to all the folks that made our stay at Jay so pleasant.

As a member of a local club, Jay offers a discounted rate. This is a very challenging course where there are some holes requiring a long carry as there is no place to lay up. Tremendous scenery, yardage markings and undulating greens. Greens are hard and it makes it more difficult to stick it on them. The course rating is justified and nabbing some pars now and then for the high handicappers is a distinct possiblity. When the clubhouse is built, the course will have come full circle.

Played in 06 and 07. Probably the nicest course I have ever played. Plan on shooting about 10 over your handicap. Then go the Belfry for dinner.

Worth the Drive

Quick response to review below: Take advantage of the twilight rates, which kick in after 3 pm. The course is rarely crowded, and yesterday I made it around (as a twosome) in 3:45, so starting after 3 is not a problem to finish a full round.

The back 9 is now open as well - as a whole, this is a beautiful mountain resort course. Sweeping views, challenging shots, and a great design all make it worthwhile. The fairways tend (not always) to be big and forgiving, and the greens are fast and contoured but fair. Keep the ball in play, and you will be rewarded out here. There are some seriously difficult shots you have to make, but all in all it's a fun experience. Also - it is "walkable" but take the cart unless you want to be exhausted by the 10th hole. Probably 300 feet of elevation change between the high and low points, plus a few 300 yard stretches just to get from hole-to-hole. Good work with the new course Jay!!

( someone figure out a way to get there in less than 90 minutes from anywhere for me, please...)

Awesome course.........but..........

I played the 'Front Nine' (that's all there was) last Sept. Absolutely beautiful course which I would love to play again; especialy when the back nine opens. I only hope the Jay people do something about the pricing to make it affordable for the 'local hackers' to be able to play. It would be a shame if the average joe were excluded from this wonderful course due to the high cost.
