Played here recently for the 1st time in several years. Alburg CC has had a well deserved rep as a poorly maintained and operated dog track. New owners have brought on a professional greenskeeper and the course condition shows it. The front 9 is a real golf course with contour mowing and well defined fairways and rough. The smallish greens were in excellent condition. The back 9 is a work in progress with some improvements made and more to come. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a round.

Pretty course. Sometimes difficult to differentiate fairway from rough. Small greens. Very nice clubhouse/restaurant. Good driving range but closed Monday mornings.

Don't let the fact that this course is on an old cow pasture detour you from thinking it's a tough course. The grasses are cut on three different levels with the tallest being about waist high in the summer, so if you hit a wayward drive, you're in for some trouble. The folks in Alburg are among the friendliest in the state and the course is no different. I was excited to see all the work that is going into the course as I only get to play up there about once a year. They have redone and are in the process of redoing many of the tee boxes and the usually soggy fairways have been dried up with some additional drainage. The course was in great shape when I played there in early July 2007. The Restaurant is great and the club house is nice an roomy. This is a great place to play if you up in the Islands of Vermont or New York vacationing at Lake Champlain!
