I had a great time at this course last week! The staff all seemed very laid back. It was a pretty course with quite a few hills, but not too many for your average golfer (or below average in my case).

I enjoyed playing the course very much, but the customer service was the cherry on top that drove me to write the review. I am from Florida, and managed to leave my putter on my final hole. Their friendly staff very quickly located my putter and have arranged for it to make its way to Florida.

This course has potential to be quite a gem, but I think at this moment, Mr. Palmer would be embarassed to have his name attached to this course. Like a few previous reviewers, the greens are the problem and the reason for the poor rating. Part of this problem are the players who don't repair their ball marks. The other part is the lack of maintenance on the greens. In any case, for the price the greens should be in better conditions than what is currently there. For a better value, the Red Wing course is a public course with significantly better maintained greens. Really disappointed with the course for the price.

The amenities are excellent from the GPS equipped carts to the club grill and restaurant. The staff is accomodating. It has been a great course to play but it is now getting a lot of play especially by many of the retirees who live on the course and their friends i.e. greens are getting heavily marked and not being repaired. Your paying too much to have greens in that condition. Consider playing Heron Ridge Course 5 minutes away.

A great place to golf

Except for the houses - am glad to see that they are all brick - this is an awesome course. The folks running the place do a super job and look forward to playing there often. Now that I said that...please keep the prices reasonable...thanks

The Signature at Westneck

My cousin Bob and I played the Signature on the morning of 02/23/07 (the off season). The temperature was in the low 50's, with winds at a sustained 20-30 mph and some 40 mph gusts. Nonetheless, we had a good time. Arnie might love sand, but my golf balls do not. Playing here was a clinic in bunker escapes, and my score reflected it. The g.p.s. carts are WONDERFUL! Take the time to check out all of the features on them before you head out. There is even a readout on the back roofline of the cart, so that if you forget to look at the screen as you get out of the cart, you can get your yardage as you are retrieving your club. Truly amazing. We would like to return when everything greens up and the flowers bloom. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to paying big bucks for golf-and you will pay it here-but they do try to make it worth your while.

The Signature at West Neck possibly the best around?

Playing the Signature is a treat that should be had by all golfers, scratch or sniff, that live in or are visiting the Virginia Beach area. It is very easily the nicest and well kept golf course in this area of Virginia.

From the restaurant to the pro shop to the 18th green, the Signature at West Neck will offer you the best of what is to be had.

The course offers plenty of challenges from well placed water hazards to lightning fast greens. The maitenance of this course is to be spoken of. I recommend playing here in late spring when the roses are in full bloom.

It's beautiful, challenging, luxurious, and if you don't think so... I hate you.
