The 18-hole "Lake Monticello" course at the Lake Monticello Golf Course facility in Palmyra, Virginia features 6,925 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.1 and it has a slope rating of 138 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Raymond F. Loving, Jr., ASGCA, the Lake Monticello golf course opened in 1975. Tom Schauder manages the course as the General Manager.

I played this course a half dozen times in October thru December 2014. It is an absolutely beautiful course that is challenging and fair. The greens and sand traps were all in great shape and the leaves were kept clear of the course. I felt very welcomed by the super friendly staff too.

With four sets of tees there will be one that suits your game. I'd recommend this as a “must play” course when in Central Virginia.
