my buddies and I made the journey down I-81 from central PA just to golf here a couple of weekends ago and we were all in "awe" of what a golf course might look like in heaven. Beautifully sculpted high atop the Blue Ridge mountains of southern Virgina, is the marriage of scenic vistas and golf. Tee times are set 15 minutes apart for a reason -- for each golfer to enjoy the round. From the moment we pulled in at the resort lodge, magnifcent but understated as the course layout presents itself in comparison, customer service is the No. 1 priority of the staff -- everyone was falling over backwards to make sure our foursome was being taken care of and that were were having a great experience. The course played a little tough at times but as soon as you hit a bad shot or lost a ball, you just had to look around and it did not matter -- a truly golf nirvana !! Despite the pricey cost -- I'm determined that this will be annual weekend trek for me. I hope that all golf enthusiasts will try Primland out -- you will not regret the experience !!

I had been waiting to see this place for about two years and I finally got the chance this past weekend. This place is absolutely amazing. I never knew that a golf course like this could be built in Southwest Virginia. 72,000 sf clubhouse will be complete in July 09 so the amenities aren't quite perfect just yet. The views are breath taking and so is the golf. Greens are fast as sin, fairways are extremely tight, and dont go in the fescue. Very fair golf course though, no out of bounds the whole way. If you ever get the opportunity, dont pass it up.

Incredible course, have played many mountain resort courses in Pacific NW, Colorado, British Columbia and this is my favorite. Only rated the amenities 4/5 since the lodge/club house are under construction. Don't expect to shoot low here, this is a challenging course. However, the beauty of the course and the impeccable maintenance will out weigh any bad shots and/or lost balls. You better take a few extra.

Unreal course, a little expensive but worth every penny. "Real" mountain golfing.

I never imagined such a beautiful golf course could be built in such a place where I grew up. Being as blessed as I have been, to play major league baseball for 6 yrs, and professionally for 15yrs., I have had the opportunity to play some of the best golf courses in the united states, "sawgrass, doral, spyglass, atlanta athletic club, quintero, la cantera, sugarloaf, etc." I can honestly say this course is my favorite. Definitely a challenge, but absolutely breath taking. I always knew these mountains were beautiful but this course puts an exclamation point on the beauty. Worth the visit over and over. Brad Clontz

great golf, fantastic scenery

I'm telling you, the views from this mountaintop don't get any better. I kept finding myself wanting to ease off the greens every hole to take in the views and having to get back and hurry my putt-reading. But pay attention to the course, it's a gem too. Once the clubhouse and condo complex is built, this will be a complete mecca.
