Played course over the weekend, staff very nice, plenty of water on course, fairways were a little brown as were the greens. The only negative was the constant interference of other golfers hitting bowls into other fairways. Water and bunkers are not the hazards on this course, it is the balls from other golfers, however, that is to be expected when the course is so tight that you can look out on the back nine and see 5 fairways in your view. It was a sea of carts and golfers and honestly, that takes the enjoyment out of the game when you are constantly ducking balls.

Played this course for the first time this past Saturday evening @ about 5.15pm and got thru about 14 holes before 8.30. I have been looking for an inexpensive place to play that was in good condition. It was beyond my expectations. Course was in great condition (fairways and rough more so than the greens). Pin placements were very odd. . . many were 3 to 3 paces from the edge of the greens. Not only a fun and challenging course but they have a Players Pass ($50) which allows you to play anytime for $34. This includes a free round when you sign up, a free green fee for every 3 $34 rounds you play. Essentially you are paying $28 per round anytime ($34+$34+$34+$10 for cart fee).

Word is that the new management has turned this place around.
Edit : One major down side is that there is no Range.

Very friendly course for high handicappers minus a few holes (watch out for hole 9, par 3 crossing over a ravine with a tricky green depending on pin placement).

You might need a hard hat for holes 14-16 as it criss crosses and balls fly from every which angle.

Overall, I think this is a bargain course. The prices are very reasonable with the type of service provided. Thumbs up for this golf course.

The description below is about as accuratre as possible. For having a dry spell, the course sure was soggy...no rolls whatsoever. Not a long course, so straight hits are rewarded. Picturesque with many conifers in the rough. Pretty Par 3s. Drove over an hour to play the course...would do it again with Tee Time Pass. Worth a stop!

I played here while on a business trip to Leesburg. What a great course! Over 55 weekday is $25. Lots of terrain, ups and downs. Small greens, narrow fairways but the roughs are open so you don't lose many balls. Roughs are pretty thick and difficult to get out of. Many greenside bunkers around the small greens - get your sand wedge ready. Several holes on the back are beautiful along the Goose creek - even had a big set of rapids. Best score card I've ever seen with a description and playing strategy for every hole. No complaints at all - playing again tomorrow!

Once the nearby construction is finished, perhaps the course can work on building up some natural barriers (the view and sounds of the rock quarry on Holes 2-5 is less than ideal). Plenty of potential, and they are working on it, but they're still years away. I just hope they don't jack up the rate when it's realized.

Great land for potential but really just a mid-level course. I expected more out of the same group that built up Whiskey Creek. The grass was ok... for the 16 holes of the course. 2 under repair for a full year. When I asked if we could just play through for 2 more over the phone, I got a 'maybe' answer. the worst part of the course is the lack of fluid holes. Every hole is blind and you can never really truly shape out your entire hole approach. They also cornered off hole 3 in the fairway to create a makeshift t-box. So you lost 2 par 4s and half of another one.... 9/10 stokes for $50 with a MAYBE for the last two holes and no driving range to warm up on. I'd go back for $20, not for $50...

Fair course for the money

$40 for weekend with ride, close fairways, careful when you are on the fairways. Fair green speed, but really small greens.

Lots of potential here

I have been playing here off and on for a year. The course conditions have really come a long way due to a change in the staff. The lush greens are very small for the most part and roll true. The green on the Par 5 Number 2 hole seems to always have issues and is in poor shape 99% of the time. The Pro Shop staff is great and helpful. Snack Bar has a wide selection of pub fare. The course does not have a driving range, which is a major flaw when rated against the other courses in the area, however there is a small putting green suitable for chipping. With its uphill, downhill and blind tee shots this layout is not for the meek, but the hackers seem to flock here. And this often leads to slow pace of play (not to mention with a lack of a driving range, the hackers use the first nine holes to get some type of game going). Another issue is the dress code or a lack of any enforcement of one. A lot of blue jeans and t-shirts out there this past weekend. Anyway, greens fees are a bit steep, but not by much. Give the "Goose" a shot and decide for youself.

Tough little SOB!!!

The smallest greens of any golf course I have ever played. You are a great shot maker if you can score well here. I carry a 8 handicap and I always played this course like I was a 13. Great place to raise your handicap on. There are some major issues with maintenance on this course. Several greens are basically unplayable, and no putt ever rolls the same way twice. It's also a frustrating place to play, as you will have to wait on every shot. You will be treated like cattle here. Herd them out, and herd them around. I got tired of being frustrated with my game here and went elsewhere. I'd rather pay $20 more somewhere else for a round of golf that was less frustrating and much more enjoyable.
