This is a great course! I have played here a couple of times over the last few weeks, and I really enjoy it. I just moved to this area from down South, and this course is one of the best public golf courses I have played for the price. The course is in really good condition, and the greens are amazing. The staff is very friendly, and work to make your experience a good one. The only downfall I found was the driving range was irons only. I really would have liked to hit the driver a few times before tee-off because it pushes 7,000 yards from the "tips", but other than that both of my experiences were great. I plan on going back on a regular basis.

Played yesterday, fairways were in pretty good shape as were the greens. The only negative for this course would be the tee boxes, they were in rough shape. Staff was friendly and the scenery was nice that included historial markers.

I had a great experience at Lee's Hill! A very nice place to play some golf. The people were nice and they had the ladies drive around almost every other hole to get drinks, etc. Greens and Fairways were in good shape. The roughs were a little soft, but I actually liked it because I'm a beginner.

Course was in great shape, especially considering the drought and 100* temps we have had for the past month! Greens were a bit long and sloooow, but they were well maintained for the most part. Some fairways had just been aerated and the sand traps were the gravel sand stuff, but those are just small maintenance issues that all courses have.

Over all the course was in very good shape. Definitely in better shape than a couple other courses, and one in particular that is just as expensive that I just played! YUCK!
I will hopefully be going back again soon.

I haven't played this course since last year due to the bad conditions and the torn up cart path. Since then I heard alot of ranting and raving on how much this course has improved,I must say that I do agree 100%. The course is playing very nice. The green are good, but needs a little more work, fairways came in nice, and the maintainance crew did a good job cleaning up course to make it look more appealing to play more often. I give it a thumbs up. Only bad thing they took the GPS out of the carts,so now I have to listen to Dave on every hole "Hey man! How far is it to the pin" Like I got a built in GPS up my !@#$, but at least his sunroom he build for his German lady on #8 looks good.

I hadn't played here in about 10 years until today. I was pleasantly surprised at the conditions of the fairways and greens (excellent) and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the layout. No houses, no parallel faiways and a good mix of short and long holes. The weekend rate is very reasonable compared to other courses in the area. We'll be back!

Greens need work

My wife and I played the course on March 22,07 and found it in great shape except the greens need work. Apparently they had problems with die-off last summer and most of the green haven't come back. Otherwise, it is a great course--well laid out and challenging--we'd play it again in a minute.

Unplayable Greens

This course has potential but the management seems to not be concernered about the horrible greens. This course has been going down hill for several months and has finally reached unplayable status. The greens are so bad hitting a put on any line is impossible and the speed is different on every green. Take your money to one of the other fine courses in the Fredericksburg area.
