This golf course is a fun and interesting course to play. The fairways are wonderful. They are so plush and green. The greens need some work and the bunkers need to be finished but overall it's a wonderful course to play. The holes are challenging and the roughs are definitely rough. The view is great with the mountains in the background. The owner has put a lot of time and engery in making this course a fun place to play and the price is the best around. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends. The only thing that this course needs is to have food for sale. You do get hungery when you play and the chips and crackers just don't cut it, so if you want to play here bring your own food or eat first.

I enjoyed this course, after I found it. The maps are wrong. From 460 west of Appomattox turn on to Police Tower Rd. Go about 2 miles and take the right side of the fork. Mountain View is about 1/2 mile on the left.
Overall the edges were rough, but so am I. Greens and Fairways were good for this time of year. I will return!

The people, especially the owner's Mom were great. The fairways had turned, but they are best I've played off of in this area. They were almost perfect! If the ball landed in the fairway it always set up nicely. The greens still need some work, but they were not bad. It will be a lovely course when it matures. The price is great too. Granted, this place is not fancy, but it is ovbvious a good deal of work has gone into it. The 2nd and 3rd holes are sharp doglegs that play pretty tough and the first hole is 130 par three over water. All in all the owner has done an ingenous job of working with the land available.

Mountain View Golf Course is a nice new course!

This new little course has some beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the surrounding farm landscape. The greens are very challenging with no flat putts anywhere. The opening hole is a par three over a pond that is tough for a first shot! All of the other holes are built on the rolling landscape in such a way that you often have blind approach shots into the greens which create challenging shots on each hole. This was a nice find on a recent trip for a family wedding. I look forward to future opportunities to play this course. As the sand is added to the traps and the course matures and has the back nine added it should be a tremendous place for the average to good golfer.
