9 hole regulation length course
35 par | 3,185 yards
The 9-hole "Valley Course" at the Cascade Golf Center facility in Orem, Utah features 3,185 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35. Designed by William H. Neff, ASGCA, the Valley Course opened in 1968.
Cascade is a very interesting course. The back nine is set in the mountains and has some very fun holes. This course isn't a very long course but it is very difficult outside that. If you don't hit the ball straight you will cost yourself some penalty strokes. Really good for practicing hitting the ball straight. If you only go nine hit the back 9. Some blind and difficult holes. Great amenities with chipping greens and driving range.
Not the greatest coarse needs a little work here and there. very laid back. good value you get what you pay for. definitely not a dump just needs a little tlc.
The course offers a good putting green, plus three chipping greens (including one with sand), and a decent driving range. HOwever, the small concrete walls between each driving mat is very annoying, and the chain link fences every 5 mats can be downright dangerous (and annoying). A few miniture golf course as well. As for the course, the Valley is pertty nice with large, mature trees. The mountain is very fun to play with all of teh elevation change, especially the par 5 hole 18 that is possible to reach the green in one shot (trust me, I've seen in done on more than one occasion, but VERY risky!). But, the greens and bunkers on the Mountain course are in very bad shape. The greens are VERY bumpy, with dead spots right next to puddles! But, still a blast to play! A few more years and I'm sure it will develop into a better course. Good value for 9 holes, but no discount for playing the full 18, and cart rentals are pretty expensive.
Short, but funThis a great course for beginning golfers. It doesn't offer a lot of the fancy extras that other courses will offer, but it has great practice facilities at a great price. The course itself has terrible sand (more like clay) that is so hard that you may very well have to take two swings just to get it out of there, because you can't get your club under the sand. The rest of the course is great, an uphill challenge, with super short par 3s that offer a good break from the tee, but some trouble on the green with lots of undulations and tricky reads. But this course is a great place to learn target golf.
Cascade Social Center/Golf CourseThis place was horrible. My sister had her wedding reception here. The facilities were horribly dirty when we showed up to decorate. Dirty dishes on the counters, old food around, it hadn't even been vacuumed. The staff was very rude. They were supposed to help us clean and serve food. They watched us clean and when I asked them to help serve food, they were very rude and gave alot of attitude. We paid almost a thousand dollars to use their services, and I couldn't believe how rude they were. The bridesmaids ended up dishing up most of the food. The place was dirty, staff extremely rude, and it was overpriced. Avoid this place if you can.
