First, I am an east coast golfer, so wanted to experience a "desert-like" setting. The front nine offered that. Beautiful views of red sandstone rocks were enticing. Loved the desert vegetation that lined the rough and tee boxes. The course itself is rather short and fairways wide and lush. When I began the back nine...it was like a number of east coast courses...holes lined with homes and I lost that "desert" feel. Only #17 and #18 brought back any sense of "desertness". I had the first tee time, so expected a fast round, but 5 foursomes and 1 fivesome started on the back nine and some serious slowdown occured. Price was reasonable...greens slow but was early in the morning. Not a real challenging course but worth a stop.
