This course is still a goat track. The property owners were able to finally buy it from the old owner, who was only interested in collecting money from it every month, but aside from cosmetic improvements made to the club house and some newer carts, it's the same old course with the same old problems. Greens are slow and patchy, full of invasive common Bermuda. Most sand traps are overgrown with weeds and have no drainage.

On the positive side, if you like to swim, they have taken much better care of the pool near the clubhouse, although the parking lot is a mine field.

The property owners like to talk a big game, but they still don't know what they're doing. They don't know how to apply money effectively in getting the most out of the golf course. They spend on a restaurant that nobody uses and which doesn't make money, while ignoring the need for plugging, verticutting, sanding, fertilization, etc. of the course.

These types of communities are falling out of favor with homeowners across the country anyway, as the costs associated with them have skyrocketed and the middle class continues to shrink.

The property owners now own this course and have made MANY improvements. I gave this a 5 star rating to help offset some of the very old negative reviews. Truly, the course is not 5 star yet, but it is a solid 4 star now. Irrigation system, bunkers, fairways and greens have all been dramatically improved. It is a scenic, fun and challenging layout. A new fleet of golf carts are in service. A new 19th hole bar & grill is in operation with friendly staff, good food, good prices and a beautiful setting. Beer & wine is available. Try it yourself and you'll be pleased. This review is written in May 2017.

Since we (property owners) bought the golf course & club, 100% of the money we bring in now goes back into the facilities! Improvements in the past 4 years are; resurfaced main swim pool and small pool, resurfaced 2 of 4 tennis courts, renewed and/or replaced some 60 sand traps, fixed sprinkler system on 18 holes, including a new wet well and pumps, golf course is in the best shape it's been in since '96, rebuilt both bathrooms on the course, rebuilt the pool bath house, rebuilt the majority of the club house, put in over $50 G in a/c, opened the 19th Hole Bar n Grill (awesome), built a new cart barn for the new fleet of golf carts, poured appr. 250 yds. of new concrete, restocked several of the interior lakes... want more? call George at 936-594-1234, and i'll tell you, or better yet, show you. come see for yourself!

This place is a complete dump right now. The property owners association is in the process of trying to purchase the course from the owner. The guy that owns it now puts no money or time into the course whatsoever. The carts are in terrible shape, half of the mowers don't run and there is essentially no pro-shop. It's an absolute waste of money if you pay more than $10 to play here, cart included.

The is a nice little course and plays well. The greens are getting into better shape and the maintenance crew mows daily. I'm looking forward to the future as better days seem to be on the horizion.

The Owner has just hired a new GM and experienced golf course Superintendent. They are determined to raise the quality of the facility. I am sure this will be a fun, enjoyable and well maintained course in the near future.
