The 18-hole "Republic" course at the The Republic Golf Club facility in San Antonio, Texas features 7,070 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. Designed by Art Schaupeter, ASGCA, the Republic golf course opened in 2002.
After reading all of the other reviews, I thought this would be a great course to check out. Unfortunately it was the worst golf experience I ever had. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful. That was the only bright spot of the day. Every hole except for 16, 17, 18, had lawn maintenance going on. Multiple mowers on every fairway, weed whackers in the bunkers. No one cared that you were trying to drive or putt. The engines kept on roaring. The times I asked for the engines to stop, I was treated like an inconvenience. It was annoying, stressful, and disruptive, everything golf isn't. I made sure management knew of the terrible conditions, but it continued for 5 more holes. A refund should have been offered, but it was clear keeping my money was more important than generating repeat business. I will never golf there again.
