I played the course for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed the lay out. The staff was cordial during check-in and the starter at #1 seemed knowledgeable. However, the pace of play was sub par, taking almost 5 hrs to play on a Saturday morning. We saw the marshal only one time during our round. The two locals we golfed with said this was their biggest problem and marshals have been fired for trying to hurry the golfers. Another problem was the cart girl, which we observed parked at the 11th tee box as we approached, with her boy friend. As we came back through for the 18th, she was still there, but this time necking with her boy friend. And since we didn;t see her any time in between we assumed she was there the whole time. We just laughed and figured there just be some pretty laid back management at this place. At the end of our round someone was at the 18th green cleaning our irons, nice touch. I would golf this course again, but will bring my own Gatorade next time.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! IT STARTED WITH A STAFF MEMBER DELIVERING TO US OUR golf carts IN THE PARKING LOT WHILE WE WERE GETTING OUR CLUBS OUT OF THE TRUCK. THEN AFTER GIVING US A GENERAL LAYOUT OF THE COURSE AND CLUBHOUSE, ALL WHILE TIEING OUR BAGS UP FOR US ONTO THE golf carts, HE SENT US ON OUR WAY. INSIDE THE CLUBHOUSE, WE WERE GIVEN A DISCOUNT FOR IT BEING OUR FIRST TIME AT THE COURSE. THE MARSHALL MET US AT #1 AND GAVE US SEVERAL GOOD TIPS ON HOW TO PLAY DIFFERENT HOLES. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A GOLF COURSE LIKE THIS BEFORE. THE ELEVATION CHANGES WERE UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME! SOME TEE BOXES WERE UPWARDS OF 40-50 FEET BELOW THE FAIRWAY,AND SOME 40-50 FEET ABOVE THE FAIRWAY OR GREEN ON THE PAR 3'S. EITHER WAY, MOST OF THE HOLES HAVE HILLS ALONG THE EDGE/OUT OF BOUNDS LINE SO MOST OF OUR SHOTS THE WHOLE DAY FUNNELED BACK INTO THE FAIRWAY, WHICH HELPED GREATLY. ALL AND ALL, THIS COURSE IS AWESOME. THIS WAS THE BEST AND MOST CHALLENGING GOLF COURSE I HAVE EVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY. IF I'M IN THAT AREA AGAIN, I'M DEFINATELY GOING TO STOP AND PLAY THERE AGAIN. 1 ROUND DURING THE WEEKDAY WAS $50.

Awesome! Some very difficult holes. Greens were fast, bunkers were deep, and some fairways became narrow if you didn't hit it straight. Great scenery would play this again. Played this course on March 19, 2009.

Was back 12/24/08 Much better, your child of high school age and down plays for free with a paid adult. Golf course in better shape. It is a fun layout. Played 6/21/08 - I'd stay away for a while, the greens are NOT in good shape. Give it couple weeks.

Play The Bandit!!!

I drove from Utah to Texas to vist family! Had one day to play golf and chose The Bandit Golf Course in New Braunfels! And I am glad I did! Very well maintained! Greens were in great condition! Only one 3-putt all day! Head pro pointed out some "trouble" holes and how to avoid the trouble! Very scenic course with plenty of holes along Long Creek.. It was 103 degrees that day and the course was still in very good shape! Definitely deserved of it's "Best Values" claim! It is one of the Best Values in Texas! You will not mind the drive out to New Braunfels to play this course!
