I really like this course. Played here a few times in July and August of 2012. It is a fun course with a really interesting and challenging layout. It has a nice secluded and quiet feel to it. I love the back nine, especially hole #13 and holes 16-18 that wind through the pine forest. Lots of great elevation changes for this part of Texas. The rain this summer has helped keep it green and looking good. This course is an excellent bargain, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Bluebonnet.

Played Bluebonnet June 22. I really enjoyed the course and layout. Some of the holes are tight with Ponderosa's guarding the fairways on either side while some are open and in a meadow. Very scenic. Greens were in outstanding shape and played slower than most of the courses I have played in and around Houston in the summer. They have multiple holes that could be considered signature. The best view of the course is the par 4 13th that plays onto a large island green. You are surrounded by a large lake and can see most of the rest of the course. Staff was friendly. I did not see a range. Putting greens are tucked away by the 10th tee. Twilight rates are $19 with cart of weekday. Pretty solid deal. You won't be disappointed playing Bluebonnet Country.

Course is in pretty decent shape considering all the rain the area has had over the past 3 weeks. Looks as if they have some major irrigation projects going on. Some dug-up pipes in the fairways. Overall for the money this is a pretty nice little track. Staff is helpful and responsive and go out of there way to make you feel welcomed. Greens could be better but still a notch above most munis in Houston. Sand was in pretty tough shape but I attribute that to all the rain. Lots of elevation and water which is great for practice as there is little of it in Houston (elevation that is). Overall nice setting and the price can't be beat. They usually are running specials which can go as low as $15-$20 a round with a cart during the week without a wait. Didn't see much in the way of a practice facility so come ready to play. About an hour to hour and half from Houston.

Terrible condition. Hunks out of green surfaces and much scalding, sand bunkers holding water and very hard course sand, tee boxes littered with broken tees and not cut, pro shop depressing - even toilet bowl lid half missing. Fairways OK, carts good.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Wonderful layout in an out of the way, peaceful location among the pines. Accuracy is at a premium off the tee many holes are tight because of the trees especially 1 and 10. Greens can be sneaky to read. Plenty of fun and pretty holes – 13 is an island type hole and 16 is a classy long par 3. Lots of variety on your second shot. Course conditions have suffered over the last decade; greens have been poor and fairways are a mixed bag. However new management appears to be steadily improving the conditions. The average player will face a stiff test but will have fun because of the great layout. If course conditions continue to improve this could be a hidden gem.

Be prepared for the water :)

This course was in nice shape on 04/06/07. They have been working on the greens, and they are starting to come around. About 80% of the holes have a water hazards. The course is very quiet(no road noise,construction,ect..). All in all a very nice course.
