Course Reviews

I found this to be an aggressively bad golf course, unfortunately. The courses is shoe-horned through housing on almost every hole, but even the holes where the houses aren't right on top of the action, they're still there and in play for a bad shot. I spent the day just hoping to survive the round without breaking something. There are a number of awkward, close to 90 degree doglegs, where you really need to lay-up (even from the tips), or play it over someone's home. The corridors are not particularly wide, and to make matters worse many of the homes (homes, not property line) sit as little 10 feet from the out of bounds marker. If you're a short and straight hitter you might not hate it here, but anyone with some length to their game is one miscue from hitting a house. I've played over 200 courses in my life and I don't recall ever playing with with housing that is consistently in play for the poor shot like they are on this course.

The conditions were good, there's a nice range and shortgame practice green,it's quite walkable for a real estate course, and the guy working the front desk was extremely nice and accommodating. I drove over an hour to play here and hoped for a nice day, but I was really ready for the round to end when it did; and it did after #18, probably the worst closing holes I've ever seen. I didn't play that poorly, and I didn't hit a house, but I won't be returning to press my luck.

This course has gone thru some transitions in the past year or so. The City of Meadow Lakes purchased the course and has worked very hard to get the course up to par! The staff and the resturant is excellent, they have great buffets and the 19th hole is a great place to gather for a cold one after a round. The pro, David Klotz is very knowledgeable and gives lessons twice weekly. I enjoy playing this course and is a course everyone should try!

The golf course was in rough shape but I was told that it was improving every day. I was greatly impressed with the food and beverage manager. His name was Jason. He made us feel like home. I hope he is there when we return in the summer. This course has great potential.
