I have played two touraments already this year at this course about a month apart. the first time i shot 105, and the second 89. when i shot 89, i got 15 over all. Regardless, this course is amazing! I was not fortunate enough to play a practice round here and i bought a yardage book. The par 3 12th is an amazing hole that plays about a half wedge down. Love it its an amazing course to play!

This is really a golfing experience rather than a course. When you pull into the parking lot, expect an escort to take your bag, shoes, and any items you want in the cart cooler (pre-packed with ice for you) up to the putting green while he drops you off at the pro-shop. You are then free to walk around, practice putting, or take the personal cart up to the practice area and driving range. You will find balls available for you (yellow Callaway range balls) as well as water at the driving range tee boxes. Your caddy will come over and introduce himself and keep your clubs nice and clean while you are warming up. Then it's time to hit the course! The fairways are quite generous, but don't get too eager because the rough is nearly impossible to play out of, as it is just brush and thicket. Your caddy will run ahead and find your ball for you though, in case you do hit it in the rough. Most holes require a drive of about 250+ leaving an approach of 200+. There is a significant advantage in playing from the reds on this course, not only in distance, but in landing area and visibility. So if you aren't in for the distance challenge, and want more of a relaxed round, definitely consider playing from these instead. It was also the best $5 hotdog I ever had.

One of the best in Texas

Very fair and playable layout, requires all shots. The short par 4 holes require being played more than once to understand all the options. First 12 holes are typical hill country golf. The rest remind me of Carter Plantation in Louisiana.

This new course is a panoramic treat as well as a good test of golf skills. Like some other newer Texas courses there are two uniquely differant nines. Fairways are overall liberal with well positioned Challenge hazards requiring both a draw and a fade to reach the optimum approach areas. If you like to hit a driver this one is for you, There are 4 par fives and three are over 575 from the tips.

The bermuda greens are generally small with several knolls and contour breaks. The grain of the greens is not fully established so there are still very hard to read. Best advise is to Buy a yardage book or get a Forecaddie and pay attention! Try the expensive HOTDOG at the Snack bar or General Majors, It is worth the price!

I can't wait to go again.
