Not for the faint of heart. As a rookie player avg. 95+ this course will really get under your skin. I have yet to break 100 here. It is my nemesis course. In setting my golf goals every year, I add this course to the list. You can watch golf on TV and say .. man I should be able to do that .. ummm play here for a reality check on your game ..haha

On an average day I will shoot 80-85. First time to play here and shot a 96. It is a very difficult course and there is zero room for error. If you want to challenge your game, play here, but if you are looking to get out and have a fun day of golf with a higher chance of a good score, go to another course. Service was friendly, cart girl came around about every 4 holes, but there was only 1 and the course was not that busy. We teed off around noon. Until my game improves more, will probably hold off playing this course again as the price is steep.

This is a good, challenging, expensive public course-never less than $50 pre-tax.
The golf course is challenging. Bring your "A" game or a lot of extra balls. Tight fairways, target shots to the green, lots of hazards and elevation changes. Challenging greens with surface elevation changes.
If what you want is to play golf and do not expect any service, Sky Creek is the course for you. Level of service is below average. Paying $60-$90 at a golf course you would think they would offer to load clubs on the cart, clean clubs after the round, the beverage cart girls to make more than one pass. Balls at the driving range are included, but they run out frequently and you must call the pro shop to have them bring more. The employees at the pro shop are uninterested, and usually not at the desk.
There is no locker room or bathroom large enough to change in. The service and food at the bar /grill is average. Maybe because all the employees are 18+, with no interest in customer service. The teenagers are too occupied with their own conversations to provide service - the check arrives fast. The manager is no where to be seen. Explains the attitude from the staff. They are definitely short staffed for the size of the course and the number of golfers playing.
This course hosts a lot of weekend tournaments. Lots of the local high school golf team players. They do not care about the week day or weekend golfer.
The memberships are reasonably priced, understanding that there is no service.
The greens are suffering from lack of courtesy to repair ball marks. The ground crew seem to be ignoring the greens. Common to encounter the ground crew in the middle of your shot. The fairways are in great shape. The bunkers do not drain water well and will become hard packed. The tee boxes hold up well. Tight course with narrow fairways and many times the rough is someones yard or house.
They have a free GPS app that is sketchy, jumps often and freezes alot, giving pretty inaccurate distances.
Surprising the difficulty many courses are having in this economy, this course does not seem to care.
Given its location in an upscale neighborhood & its price point, the service is so poor and the course not in better condition.

As stated below this is a very challenging golf course. If you aren't on your game it will eat your lunch very quickly.

The amenities are as good as anywhere in Dallas. The biggest problem is finding the right price point for the club. In 08 green fees were much higher than comparable upscale courses at well over $80 with not a discount in sight.

They've had some good specials in 09 that have made it a better value. The right price point should be about $55-$75 as a rack rate. Anything more than that feels overpriced for this track in this market.

Sky creek is a very difficult course with elevated greens on almost every hole. The fairways were in excellent shape in November but the bunkers need a little
work. The staff was average at best. I agree with the other comments that this course is over priced for the area.

This is one of my favorite courses. I feel in love with it last year and made it my regular stop - when I could splurge for the fees. Last year this course was $69 per round. I thought that was a little high but playing it, I decided it was worth the cost. This year, it is up to $99 a round and that is just way too much. I am not of the ilk to spend a hundred dollars a round plus the extras I sometimes indulge in. If I were, this would not be the course I chose to do it on, I would most like join a CC and get one where I had sister courses to choose from.

Fees aside though, this is one sweet course. I just love the greens and the fairways (when I get to see them). The floods have been tough on the course though and they have some repairs to make, but the playing conditions are still very good. Traps are a little overwhelmed, but most are very playable.

On a ball eating scale I would give this course a 7 out of 10 because if you are off the fairway there is a good chance you lost your ball. I even lost one right next to a green, which is very upsetting. Yeah I like the challenge of a tough rough like the next guy, maybe even more so, but on a public type course that is not PGA Tour tough it just slows down the play and that is always a big negitive for me, not to mention the fact I have to take a stroke and lose a ball I should have been able to play with a short chip shot.

This course is really nice though, not sure about the staff or what they are supposed to do. I guess for a $100 course there should be much more service than I see sometimes and there should certainly be more perks like ball markers, tees, repair tools, cold towels. The cart girl was nice and we saw her at least 3 times during the round, that is key for me. Also the course should be in better shape than it is for $100/round, bridges should be repaired correctly and all the brush should have been picked up and the rough around the fairways and greens should be less thick and tall.

All in all, this is still my favorite around here outside of the private courses. I love the way the greens stick the ball and the putting surface is excellent with just the right amount of slope to make the putts tough without being crazy.

Bring some balls though, or hit something straighter off the tee. If they would lower the rounds to $75, I would play there more often and so would probably many more people. In the area where this is (Keller), there is not much $50 courses to choose from, but for $100 I can think of several other places I would rather play.
