Played on June 11. Fairway turf is very good. Greens were still bumpy from aerating a week ago. Another week and the greens should be excellent.
The pro shop has great prices on equipment. The shop can order anything from Bridgestone, Titleist, and Wilson Staff.

Great value for money. The green is well kept, though slower than private courses, but faster than most muni courses in Houston. Greens are flat without much undulation, some of them are well protected by bunkers, but most are open. Wide open fairways without many trees, makes this course an easy course; errant drives are forgiven. Tee box and fairways are in reasonable shape for muni, and the staff are friendly.

Great muni! Greens in really great shape (for a muni) Staff friendly enough. Quite a few players are regulars but not hard to walk on even on a weekend (just get there real early) Track is flat and fairly easy as long as you keep it in the fairway. Overall worth a try.

I played this course at least 50 times, I believe it's every Houstonian first and second course they ever played. The fairways are wide, but watch out for houses and apartments on some of the holes. Beware the trees, or you will be punching out all day. I always enjoy playing sharpstown.

This is a flat but challenging course, there is a lot of yardage, so take out your big stick for the par fours. Great grill to feed your tummy and the locker room is filled with clean showers and private dressing rooms. This course is popular with the local Korean community, so don't be surprised if you see KJ Choi smacking the driver with his fellow countrymen. Awesome course and the staff treat you right, best kept secret on the southwest side.

Fairways are bit tighter than they look from the tee box. The greens can be sketchy at times. Not the most difficult course, ex: Hole #1 is a par 5 with a cluster of trees splitting the fairway. Great course to help refine your game as there are many beginners and you won't feel AS embarrassed if you happen to spray a few shots.

Was there last 3/1/08, greens were good. Many of the old ditches are now underground. BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK in the City. Walk it on the weekend for $20. Decent breakfast in the grill too. It has never drained well from the first time I played in 8/84. Neighborhood is better than Glenbrook but not the best.

Very enjoyable for a beginner, best value in the area!

FAIRLY LARGE GREENS AND FLAT. GOOD FOR BEGINERS. IN THE MIDDLE OF SHARPSTOWN APARTMENTS THOUGH.

Reviewed August 11, 2007

The course is enjoyable. Fairly flat. Good sized greens. Water drainage on the course seems to be a problem. Currently (8/07) several bad places in many fairways, but there has been a LOT of rain in this area.
