No souvenir course golf ball. The clubhouse is very small with nothing more than snacks and range balls. You get a discount for not using a debit or credit card on all purchases. Also if you bring back your last reciept, you get $5 off. I will have to come back and play in the summer for a second opinion, but for the winter, it was only so-so. The fairways and greens were fairly decent. several of the sand traps have gone into disrepair. The greens overall are small in size but were flat and recently airated. The course had a "no carts on the grass" policy, and enforced it strictly. A staff member met us near a green and yelled at my wife and I because she was pulled off the cart path slightly. The cart path is nothing more than a gravel road, very bumpy and pot holed. Also there were bees and wasps on every hole along the cart path. And since you weren't allowed to drive on the grass, they were unavoidable. Every hole is surrounded by trees. Sometimes you can't see any part of the next hole because it is completely surrounded by trees. The fairways are a decent width, but a drive that gets away from you equals a lost ball. Because of all the trees, several holes require a lay up, or you can do like i did a few times and drive it over the fairway, and into the woods. The course is relatively flat. There is only 1 or 2 major watar hazards and multiple dried up old water hazards. Overall it is an alright course to play once or twice, but if you live in Abilene, not worth the drive for every round of golf. I will give it one more chance in the spring or summer when the trees get their leaves back and (hopefully) some green grass.

This course is very secluded among the most beautiful Oak trees in west Texas and is very well designed. Each fairway seems to be isolated from the others, because of all the trees. This can make for a very challenging game, but it is so worth it. I love this course and will play it again and again.

Tight, short course situated among the brush and “shinnery”. Leave the driver in the bag and bring your bump and run game. The least errant tee shot, particularly left, is dead. Dry fairways will help your roll – for better or worse. Greens had a few dead patches around them but for the most part in really good shape. Good scores can be had if you manage your game but the margin for error is so small an average player that is having trouble off the tee can be in for a long, frustrating day.

This is a very nice, well kept course. New hole signs, benches and ball washers. Challenging fairways not for the faint hearted.
