My boo and I played it today. Well priced, super layout; however, the greens were incredibly bad. Something has gone wrong somewhere. The very, very, very rude pro shop guy said it was because of the cool weather; however, we've played all the surrounding courses and see no other greens, anywhere, that remotely resemble the poor condition of those at Split Rail. If I didn't already mention, the pro shop guy was an @$!*%, to a friend of ours a couple of weeks ago, to me and my boo today, and to the 2 cops who played behind us today. Not sure why the club would want this guy representing their brand, but he's there nevertheless. We'll probably play again because it's a great layout, but will not be as often as I would like because of the @$!*% and the greens.

Great scenic course that offers fun challenges. It helps to be long off the tee and have some course knowledge. It is a course you should play a few times to appreciate and get a better score. Sand traps are the only thing keeping it form being top notch course but I understand they are scheduled to be worked on soon. It is in the best shape it has ever been in as of summer and fall of 2013. Give it a will be glad you did!

I really like this course. It's tough but if you're hitting it well off the tee you can have a good round here. If you're having a bad day striking the ball you could be in for a really big number because there are a lot of mounds covered in waisthigh and very thick grass. Hit into one you're pretty much guaranteed a lost ball. The course is long too, playing 7353 yards from the tips. Everytime I've played the course it's been in excellent condition and it's never been crowded. It's a course I never get tired of playing!

This is one of the best course's I have played in TX. After a week of hundred degree weather the greens and fairways were still in great shape. Yes its hard to find but well worth it. All around fun course to play.

Very good course! I play it weekly and drive about an hour and 15 min. Well maintained (except the bunkers). Small club house, but I don't play in the club house. Most difficult when wind is blowing. Great value! Play it once and make up your own mind. Hard to find, so call and get directions!

Great course. Uncrowded. No club house facilities, but the golf course is in great shape and fun to play. Also a great value for the facility.

Very nice course if you can find it. Nice design and very well maintained. Very fun round of golf!

Split Rail remains one of my all time favorites after playing Sawgrass to Doonbeg (Ireland).
the club house will be the icing on the cake when it is added. Only true links course of its caliber around in North Tx. Joe and crew are outstanding hosts. Thanks

Fun course! Good short par 4's allow for some gambles. Wind is always a factor. Will be a great deal when new clubhouse is built. Joe Henshaw, the pro, is an accomodating, great guy.

Good course

this is a very good course. However, you better try and take your own refreshments as no beverage cart and no rest rooms on the course. They have some water coolers at diffent holes. the course is in very good shape and some of the best greens I have played on. I would suggest anyone looking for a good, quick, and fun round try it.

Best Challenge west of Dallas

Choose your tees to choose your difficulty. From the back tees this 7,300+ yard, links-style course requires a long drive from most holes. Sand and water are strategically positioned however the greens are very large and well maintained. Very large grass practice areas with a separate PITCHING green add to make this 'players' course one of the best golf courses in Northern Texas. Staff is very curteous however the amenities were lacking in that there is no club house or mens locker room. If this were added, it would be one of the premiere golf clubs in North Texas.
