Pleasantly surprised by this course. Must be accurate off the tee or you will be in water or rough. Challenging layout but not real long, hit a decent tee shot and you have a chance for the green. Great time will be back.

WOW! This was awsome! If you have not been to keeton in a while you better go, they have a whole new staff there that is awsome and intergetic and fun and the course is in the awsome shape. Also Just played after all the rain we had and it was dry. So no more FLOODING it looks like. Definitely a favorite of mine go check it out

Something of a hidden gem in Dallas, Keeton always seems to be underused and is usually in good condition because of the water that abounds near the course. During the week even foursomes can walk on at virtually any time of day and stroll immediately to the first tee. I like the different character of various parts of the layout. The front nine features quite a few tight fairways and some very difficult, undulating greens. Perhaps four holes require a driver, but water comes into play on only a couple of holes. The back nine is considerably more wide open, and driver is definitely in order on 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 18, but water figures into five of those holes as well as one of the par 3s. Lots of different strategic options and choices on both nines make this a fun course to play. So do the 3 1/2 hour rounds...

Very nice course. I try to play during the week and have always been able to get a good tee time. #13 is quite interesting and a good challenge.

Good course, difficult for me due to the trees and water-helps to be able to hit it straight. Nice view of downtown Dallas.

My old faithful

Keeton Park is where I have played most of the rounds I played during my ten years in Dallas. The negatives are: it does not drain well, so do not even think of playing here for several days after a heavy rain; there are lots of trees and a fair amount of water, so you'd better hit it straight; play can be very slow, especially on weekend mornings because it sees a lot of rounds; and the conditioning is not alway the best because of the previously mentioned factors. On the plus side, it is convenient, inexpensive, the design gives many options for playing most of the holes, the rough is almost non-existent, all but one of the Par Fives are reachable in two (I once made two eagles in one round and I'm a 14 handicapper) and the staff is friendly and helpful. The range is huge, has natural grass without mats. There are quite a few cold water buckets and water fountains on the tee boxes throughout the course, so hot weather play is not too uncomfortable. It is also an easy course to walk as the layout has the tee boxes in close proximity to the preceding green. They rent pull carts for just a couple of dollars for walkers.
