This course is great! Good value especially with the Players club membership. Course is seems rather technical and you need to play smart in order to put down a good score. Overall the lay out of the course and the scenery of the course is worth the price. My new favorite local course.

I think in its prime, this course was in impeccable condition. The scenery is beautiful and the rates are reasonable. The problem is that the maintenance of the course and constant traffic over the fairways leaves a lot to be desired. I hope Palmer Mgmt. gets it right by improving the playing conditions around the greens and tight areas of the fairways. Other than that, I would recommend this course to all.

I played the Pine and Palmetta course and was appalled by the state of the course in general. The fairways are burnt (even after 3 weeks of rain), the bunkers haven't attended to in months and the fairways even had un-cut sections where weeds were growing. Even the fairways that had been cut, the grass cuttings were sprewn all over the place. When I complained in the pro-shop, the retort was basically "well don't bother playing here then"....not what you'd expect to hear, even something along the lines of "yes we're sorry, but this is what we're doing to improve course conditions". I will not be back to play this course and I suggest that you don't bother either. I left the course frustrated !!

Play Longwood

The Pine course is one of three 9's at Longwood. This is a nice course with very reasonable rates. The rates have come down from what's listed on this site. It can get crowded on the weekends, but when I've played it, the course has been challenging, yet enjoyable. Unless you're straight off the tee, you'll find yourself using a wide variety of rescue shots from trees, too.
