The 18-hole "River Crossing" course at the River Crossing Club facility in Spring Branch, Texas features 6,822 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Larry Hawkins, the River Crossing golf course opened in 2001.
This course is usually in VERY good shape, but I played it last week and it was in horrible shape. Quite a few of the fairways are dead (yes I realize it is winter and we have had a drought) but a lot of times in the fairway your hitting off of dirt or compressed dead grass. They apparently did not overseed anything over the winter and it really shows. Some of the fairways are green, but then there are large areas of just dead fairway (maybe a virus or fungus?) The greens are smooth but were very very saturated because of the recent rains and too much watering from the staff. I plugged my ball with a PW shots on the green and then an 8I on another! This is definately not a knock on RiverCrossing because they usually keep this course in incredible shape, but right now there are a lot of munis in SA that are in far better shape.TC
