This is a fun course and a good "bang for your buck". Lots of hills and valleys in certain areas of the course, and in fairly decent condition for the price you pay. I thought the greens were in very good condition and were just a step above the condition of the rest of the course.
A few holes on the back 9 (#13,14,15) can become boring, as they just go back and forth with each other, and not much landscaping or demand to keep you interested. But overall, I think you will enjoy this course. Practice facility is decent (other than some cracked and shredded range balls that need to be replaced), and everyone raves about the burgers in the pro shop.

Fairways in great shape, greens are spotty and slow, enjoyed it very much and will go again, once the greens fill in, its game on!

This course is nice. The course is being managed by a new golf pro. The fairways have improved over the years but still need more work. The greens have really improved since their replacement. The greens are fast but not very true. It is important to stay in the fairway here because it is tough from the rough (not mowed or manicured much). This is a very fun course and isnt easy. The last time I played the very rude golf marshal ran us off the 18th hole when we could have finished before sunset or shortly after with plenty time to putt. Many people run into this issue at this course I understand. I had to keep my mouth in check as the golf marshal walked past me to his car and drove off before I and others could even get our clubs out of the cart. I will be back to the course in hopes that the golf marshal will be fired or replaced and look forward to more improvments on the course.

I was impressed with Cross Timbers course. The course in good shape, greens rolled true, and as always, critical to stay below the hole for putting. 16-17-18 real good, memorable holes which are a signature for the course. Great golf value as well...

The course recently completed renovation of greens in Sept. '07 and the new bermuda hybrid grass is fantastic...greens are soft and receptive most of the time and this type of grass is not susceptible to the fungus that had plagued them in the past. Fairways are pristine. Scenery is spectacular and given the revenue the city of Azle is generating from gas well drilling, you should expect things to get even better. A real treat and no increase in cost of green fees with new greens!

This used to be a very nice course. I just recently revisited this course and was amazed and dissapointed with the poor shape of this course. I don't know if it was the heavy rains that demolished this course or just a lack of care, but it is definitely in terrible shape. If you've never played this course, I would reccomend playing it once just to experience the serenity of its location, but I would also ask what they are doing to improve it's condition. Plus, it's not too expensive to play. NOTE: If you're planning on walking this course you're in for journey! Many of the tees and greens are elevated and there are some serious slopes you have to ascend and descend which can be hard on both your body and game.
