I haven't played a round of golf in over six years, and boy, what a course to start back with. This beautiful course kicked me pretty good but I enjoyed every minute of it. Rewards accuracy and punishes those who are not very.

Beautiful, very challenging course. Quite expensive, but I enjoyed the round.

This is certainly a championship course and was previously voted the Number 1 Public Course in Tennesse. This is a tough test of golf with the greens raised and heavily bunkered. The 18 holes run through a residential area but the houses are set well back. Lots of doglegs and the terrain is fairly steep and there are lots of cross slopes on the fairways. Bent grass fairways were in excellent shape on April 1st, 2009. Cart path only but my wife and I played at 12:30 on a beautiful day in 4 hours 5 minutes. That's a great pace on a relatively busy day. We buy the FGCC Preferred Members Card for $500 and the rounds cost us only $25.50 each with cart, a $2.00 premium over the other 4 FGCC courses. Absolutely the best value anywhere.
Blue tees are 6549 yds, White 6202 and Red/Gold 5000. Blue slope is 128. My wife hits it straight but not long and she enjoyed the course the several times she has played it. If it is wet, the course is really a brute as the ball plugs.
The par 3 14th is a classic mountain drop to a green about a 100' below followed by a spectacular par 5 15th hole. The cart ride after the 15th green is amazing terrain zig zagging back up to the 16th tee.
Course maintenance is well done, the fairways were double cut in a diagonal fashion, looking superb.
Huge practice putting green and a moderate size, narrow driving range. I've played lots of top courses (Bethpage, Torrey Pines , RTJ Trail, Myrtle Beach, etc., but this is the best for value. For golf lovers, all 5 courses at Fairfield Glade are great value with many exceptionally scenic holes on all of the courses.

Not as impressed as I thought I would be given the reputation on other websites. Unfortunately I played during a drought in the summer so they required cart-path only in mid-90 degree heat. Seems to be better value in the area in my opinion.
