The 18-hole "Bluffs" course at the The Bluffs Golf Course facility in Vermillion, South Dakota features 6,684 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.4 and it has a slope rating of 123 on Blue grass. Designed by Patrick H. Wyss, the Bluffs golf course opened in 1996. Jim Golbirsch manages the course as the Director of Parks & Recreation.

The Bluffs is a very cool course! I played in July '12 and was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course and how easy it was to get on a Friday afternoon. The pro shop was fully stocked and the staff was very nice.
Good signage on the course, tee boxes were well marked granite signs and the fairways had below ground large colored golf balls for the yard markers. No GPs in the carts - my only knock.
There are several holes on the front and back are wide open, holes 13-16 were below the bluffs all by themselves and they were very challenging. You deal with water, trees, bluffs, etc. on those holes. Greens were sloped front to back, side to side, and large spines in them.
Just add more drinking water below the bluffs and that's it.
I loved this course and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
