Dogwood Hills Golf Course, Walterboro, SC

This course is now managed by Paramount Golf Partners and the new staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It is now named Dogwood Hills Golf Club (DHGC) and is a semi-private golf course. The rates are very reasonable for public play, and the layout is fun and memorable. You’ll be hard pressed to find another course in the "Lowcountry" with this much elevation change. Although it is not a very long course, it challenges your club/shot selection and accuracy. Some of the more interesting shots include, carries over water, tee shots that drop 30ft downhill, and approach shots 30ft back up the hills. A round at DHGC is a walk/ride through a classic Lowcountry swamp with hardwood forest bordering many holes and abundant wildlife (deer, turkeys, alligators, birds, etc.). The greens are rolling smooth, and it is apparent that the maintenance crew has been working hard. The fairways are in nice shape also. Hopefully the course stays open to the public and the condition of this course continues to improve because it sure is nice to have a facility like this in Walterboro.

Dogwood Hills Golf Club is a fantastic 9 hole course! It has breathtaking scenery, a wonderful staff, with so much to offer for a 9 hole course! I was previously under the impression that this course was private but after calling I was excited to find out that it is now open to the public! My husband and I loved playing here and will continue to come back!!
