When you play golf in Myrtle Beach (particularly during the peak season)you're going to pay. No place is this more evident than at the Barefoot Resort courses. That said; you will be treated to some of the most beautiful and well maintained courses in the area. I played the Norman course as part of my course rotation in the 07' World Golf Amateur. Electric G.P.S. carts, and perfect fairways, greens and bunkers make this a memorable experience. I've played the Love and Fazio courses as well, and have to say they are a bit more scenic. Be smart and avoid the clubhouse prices by getting lunch elsewhere after your round. You're right in the heart of N. Myrtle Beach, so there are a lot of choices. One other thing to note...the range for the Norman course requires a 5 minute tram ride from the clubhouse. Plan accordingly.

Know what you're getting into...

When you play the Barefoot courses, it's important that you understand what you're getting into. The upside is that you're going to play a well-designed, well-maintained golf course. The downside is that it's going to take you over five hours to play on most days. The staff is going to be utterly indifferent. You're going to pay a lot of money. If you have lunch, you're going to be given a higher-priced menu than the "members menu," because this place is designed to shake every dime it can out of you. It might be worth doing once because it's a nice golf course, but you're going to leave thinking, "I'm never going back there again." It's a golf factory with terrible service, and as long as you know that going in, you won't be surprised when it happens. For the money, there are so many better choices in the MB area, including Tidewater, Caledonia, Pawley's and others.
