Some of the comments regarding this and other Barefoot courses regarding costs and staff are probably fair, although I can't say I have experienced the attitude issues much in a few visits there. No question, the the fees are extremely high, but, in my opinion, this is the top track at Barefoot. It is just pristine (and the bridges are all new thanks to the wild fire), straight forward and imaginative. It is difficult, but not unfair. The cost is certainly a factor. My rankings of the four are Love, a clear #1, Dye and Norman, neck and neck for #2, and Fazio, a distant 4th - just too hard for the game I brought the day I played it.

Very nice course, but no much value for price paid.

Unfortunately the Love course can't compare to the Fazio and Dye courses as they are easily the best of Barefoot's quartet. Love is playable but pretty "blah" if you ask me. They love to pack in the golfers at Barefoot but this is the first time it has been a truly irritating round time-wise... 5 hrs is a joke, especially in the heat.

Overall, for the money there are quite a few courses that blow this one away. Don't discredit the Barefoot courses totally as the Fazio is a must play (top 2 or 3 courses in the entire area) and the Dye is worth it as well. Wish I could say the same for the Love course.

Know what you're getting.

When you play the Barefoot courses, it's important that you understand what you're getting into. The upside is that you're going to play a well-designed, well-maintained golf course. The downside is that it's going to take you over five hours to play on most days. The staff is going to be utterly indifferent. You're going to pay a lot of money. If you have lunch, you're going to be given a higher-priced menu than the "members menu," because this place is designed to shake every dime it can out of you. It might be worth doing once because it's a nice golf course, but you're going to leave thinking, "I'm never going back there again." It's a golf factory with terrible service, and as long as you know that going in, you won't be surprised when it happens. For the money, there are so many better choices in the MB area, including Tidewater, Caledonia, Pawley's and others.
