You need to play the old course and they have done a good job with the rebuilding and design. Still the wonderful MB course that is a must if you stay in Myrtle Beach. Staff is great and the club house magnificent. Sad to see the hot clam chowder tradition end due to public health laws. I would grant them an exception. A must play!

Played May 17/10 Bucket list course as the oldest course in Myrtle Beach (1927). Club house is BEAUTIFULL !!With free clam chowder(which was appreciated due to the wet condtions). Staff were EXCELLENT!! Course is very fair and playable.

I played this course on 2/9/2010. It was fairly cool and a bit windy. We were the first group out so were able to play the course ion a fairly timely manner. The course was well laid out and the green to tee paths well marked. The course is recently re-done and the greens not quite grown completely in so the putting was a little challenging. The fairways for the most part were fairly open and easy to hit. On most holes there was not a lot of trouble if you sprayed it left or right. It was a little over 6300 yards from the #3 tees so there are a number of looong Par 4s...so ....if you are not a long hitter...you should have good short game in order to score well. Fortunately..my short game was working well...so I managed to Par and Bogie a number of the par 4s. The clubhouse was amazing...and they had free "chowder" (although it was more like soup than chowder)..which was very good. Overall..I liked the course...and will play it again once its grown in and its warmer.
