The 18-hole "Ocean Course" at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort Cougar Point Course facility in Kiawah Island, South Carolina features 7,937 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 79.6 and it has a slope rating of 155 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Pete Dye, ASGCA, the Ocean Course opened in 2002. Brian Gerard, PGA manages the course as the Director of Recreation.

I have played a number of PGA courses (Sawgrass, Torrey Pines, Firestone, TPC Louisianna) and this is the best. Everything about the place, the course and the experience is fantastic. Cannot wait to play again.

My wife and I honeymooned on Kiawah (both golfers). Played 3x on the island courses and 1x on the Ocean course. Loved how difficult and yet fair the course was. The caddy had great insight and was polite and funny. I can think of no better course nor place to be better taken care of.

Simply said...Pete Dye's Best....18 holes on the beach...Calc's Ryder Cup meltdown....this is a MUST PLAY if you haven't. 18th green is eroding away..but other than that...this is a great course and a great test of golf
