AWESOME course that will challenge all of your skills. Magnificent scenery. BUT...upon arriving we were told that our tee time had been switched to the day previous on Witch's sister course(Man O War)Also, were told that we should have been there to tee off 88 minutes earlier to meet the tee off time that they had changed on us. At tee #1 a total of 20 players, who had shown up 1 HOUR late for their tee time were backlogged. On the back nine, we were told by both a ranger as well as the assistant manager to hurry up as 2 holes in front of us were open. Irritated? Yes. Disgruntled? No. I just don't feel that we should have been made to rush due to having quick players in front of us and a horde of 20 more behind us pushing us along. The Witch totally screwing up our tee times added to the irritation. I'd HIGHLY recommend this course. I will play it again. I also will most certainly LOUDLY complain if the pace of play progresses like the aforementioned "Gong Show". If The Witch wants to keep players moving along smoothly, they need to be fully cognizant of THEIR errors that create player backlogs and not rush others due to THEIR error. Unless circumstances really REALLY merit it, The Witch should avoid this "push 'em thru" mentality, common on many Grand Strand courses. It seems to be the number one complaint among tourists golfing here. gps systems on carts would certainly help keeping the pace moving by indicating pace-of-play time. Crown Park has 'em, and it's a humble little (albeit great) Hwy 9 course. Aside from these frustrations, this was a great course. Give The Witch a try.

Played the course Feb 24 as part of our annual week-long golf package via Island Vista Resort. Course was in FANTASTIC shape. I may not have played all that well, but enjoyed the course. This was my second time playing here, and it was every bit as good as the first. My only dislike is that they do not serve liquor. Plenty of Yuengling, though!

We played the Witch on 10/27 as the second course in our "Mystical 3" package. We really enjoyed the course, despite it's difficulty. Of the 3 sister courses (Wizard and Man-O-War being the other two), I'd rank the Witch as the top billing. You need to be hitting it straight here. It's also the type of course that you would do much better on the second time around with a little course layout knowledge. The total lack of houses gives the course a very quiet and secluded feel. The greens didn't give us the same level of aggravation that we got from the other 2 courses, but hitting and holding them was a challenge. I would highly recommend this course as part of your next golf package. If I lived in the M.B. area, I'd be a member here....

What a great experience. Worth the price of admission for the front nine alone. With the exception of a couple holes on the back, you are completely removed from civilization, playing through otherwise undisturbed wetland and forest. No two holes look or play the same and the course will test every part of your game, exposing any weakness. Fantastic layout.
Played 8/10/09 and conditions were excellent. A couple greens had patches that appeared to be recovering from disease, but it didn't really affect play and was the only thing keeping the course from being perfect. Grill was nothing special, and staff in general didn't go out of their way, but the starter was among the best I've seen. I don't remember the name, but he was pleasant and very helpful.
Overall, even though I played poorly, this was one of the best golfing experiences I've had in a while. My only concern here would be pace of play. We had an early morning tee time and the course was already getting backed-up by the time we finished at 11:30. If you can find a great rate, like we did, check it out. My favorite of the three "mystical" courses and I can't wait to get the chance to play it again.

GREAT Course!!! Just played it on 8/22/08 too bad that it poured down rain for holes 2 thru 5. Very Challenging(for me anyways) moderate amount of sand, great tee boxes and greens. Will definatly play there next year and hope I get a better day to play. But if I enjoyed it that much in the rain.... I can't wait to play it on a nice day. And it was only $59 including the cart. Excllent Value. Only complaint was that the guy in the pro-shop wasn't very friendly at all! Buy the way all of the wood bridges were great!

One of our groups favorite courses in Myrtle Beach. Fun to play, beautiful in scenery, and certainly not a cookie-cutter course like the rest.

My group and I have played this course on many occasions and treuly enjoy the layout and the scenery. Can be difficult from the blues and the greens are fast when the sun gets on them. Highly recommend this course.

If you can get a discount here, tee it up

I played here b/c I had a coupon for a group of 4 with cart fees only. The course was in very good shape, but overall I don't feel it is worth the full price of $109. The front 9 has some very nice rides through the marsh and woods from hole-to-hole and the course is pretty but I was not crazy about the layout. To be honest, I would probably have a better review if I were to go back b/c many of the tee shots required some previous course knowledge, or else you could hit what you think is a real good shot and end up in a real bad spot.

Not much witchy about this one.

Course is definitely a "home-town" course as it's populated with mostly members and local hacks (and I mean hacks!). The front nine of the course is actually quite pretty and the layout is interesting with decent length and some trouble here and there. The back nine is a whole other story as it's all crammed together with no water and very little imagination on the design. Overall, if you're visiting Myrtle there are about 30 other courses I'd recommend before even thinking about going to this one. The course is in decent shape and the greens could be brutally fast if they wanted to be but the amenities and general atomosphere is too "local" for me.

Overall, not bad, but it's one of those that doesn't live up to the advertisements in my book. If you're a 13+ handicapper it'd probably be entertaining and workable for you.

Visited from the U.K. and we just do not have anything like this golf course anywhere at home. Its appears to rise out of pristine wilderness and whilst Its a challenge it still manages to be a lot of fun. Play it late in the day and it becomes quite spooky and very beautifull out there around twilight, you won't be dissapointed.
