Great value for $41 through myrtlebeachgolf.com. excellent condition although they had just receeded and it was cartpath only until hole 12. Sand traps make you hit sharp shots. Still, very fair. Nice layout. Excellent value for me at a 14 hand-cap.

Played Shaftesbury Glen today, a mild late-November day, as part of a Myrtle Beach golf package. This course is related to three other "Glen" courses in the area. The course was in excellent shape, except the greens from hole 8 on into 18 were recently aerated. Greens 1-7 ran hard and fast with not many breaks. The aeration slowed the rest of them down a bit.

There are four sets of tees - ranging from 4,900 to 6,900 yards in length. This course features lots and lots of sand bunkers. Looks like there are 50 bunkers in all. Some small bunkers, some very large bunkers. All holes have some sort of sand bunker arrangement. On every hole, there is a path to the green without having to clear a sand bunker, but on some of them, the path is not very wide. If you keep the ball straight, you can avoid most of the bunkers. Luckily for me, I did not hit my first bunker until hole 17. My wife was not so lucky.

They have a restaurant that serves simple food that was adequate.

Overall, a very nice experience.

Wonderful course with bent grass greens that are always in fine condition when we play. We play this course 20 times a year and we always fine a few sand traps no matter how hard we try to stay out. so my sand game has improved. The 9th and 18th are the toughest for me, yet I enjoy them also. It is quiet, the range is wonderful without the sun being in your eyes late in the day. The putting area is huge. The staff is friendly. You can play 9 holes or 18. The scenery and maintenance of Shafesbury are fantastic! A bit west, but easy to get to from route 22.

Great greens. Fast and true. Fairly flat. Tough course. All greens are evaluated. Better have a good sand game. Lot of bunkers. Course in great shape. All right in front of you, not many do legs. overall, good golf course.

A tough golf course. Sand everywhere. Well worth the 25 minute drive from downtown Myrtle Beach. Course conditions were superb. I played this as part of my rotation in the 07' World Golf Amateur. Carpet like fairways. Beautiful greens. Perect bunkers-(I should know, as I was in enough of them). A truly memorable golf experience.
