This is a great course. Very well maintained. Interesting layout with tight fairways and many blind shots. Fairways and greens were in very good shape. Great value for your money. We ate in the restaurant after and enjoyed it very much. Staff was friendly and inviting. The food was delicious and big portions. High recommend this course.

Played this course yesterday with some buddies, had a great time. I like to enjoy a round on a course that the staff takes care of, the greens were rolling at a great pace, play was moving never ran into the group in front of us. rough was nice a short so play can keep moving unlike other courses in the area. will play this course again in the near future and will tell all my out of town guests to play this gem in southern rhode island!

Nice, fun course.

Played Beaver River on a nice late-April afternoon. The course was in pretty good shape, especially for this being early in the season.

Beaver River is not very long - just 6,006 yards from the back tees. On most holes if you keep your drives straight, you usually just have a very short iron to the green. That doesn't mean all the holes are easy-ish though. Hole #8 is a tough long 439 yard par 4 and hole 12 is a very hilly and tough 453 yard par 4 with an environmental area to clear about 50 yards in front of the green. Their finishing hole, #18 is a 410 yard par 4 with water partially protecting the green. Many holes are of the 330ish yard variety where a good drive can leave just a short iron to the green.

The cost is reasonable - a weekend round cost $45 with cart.

In summary, a nice course. While we are from NYC, we frequently travel to Newport and try to make it a point to play this course on the ride home.

I really enjoyed playing this course. It was in great shape, the layout was fun and challenging, and the customer service was great. Best of all, it was a great value at only $25 to walk 18 (Guessing these are winter rates). Best value course I've played in New England and one of the better overall courses.

Very interesting layout. All different looks, every hole has unique layout. The course was in excellent shape & the greens were the best I have putted on this year. Better than Richmond & Laurel Lane.

In my opinion way overpriced. I mean it is a interesting, somewhat challenging course but just not worth it. You can literally not touch your driver all round, because almost all the holes are some sort of a dogleg. I hit my 4 iron off half of the tees. Conditions were so-so, not great. If your in this area, play laurel lane or richmond instead..

This morning at our 6:07 tee time--my brother and I were on 9. There was a gentleman mowing the green--we drove to the hill and he waved at us and we waved back, thinking it was okay to go ahead and hit. My brother hit his shot and after a few moments the guy mowing began swearing at us for a good two minutes. I have never been treated that way and am disgusted with these actions. It was brought to the attention to the pro shop at the turn and we tried our hardest to move past being beraded by the employee (I mean being called mother f's and f's and a'holes and having this guy give us the finger) but just could not get over it and played a pretty poor back 9. You pay 55 dollars for a relaxing experience and what we thought was a good course but that happens. My brother went back to just talk to the Pro again and what did he say.."all I can give you is coupon for 9". All this says to me is that this guy doesn't think it was that big of a deal to have his employee treat a paying customer like that. We were disappointed and I personally am pretty disgusted. I think people should know how your golf course treats customers.

Great course!

The course was in great shape. The layout is very challenging. This course has a lot of risk / reward holes. If you can't work the ball left and right, bring at least a dozen of them. Not a lot of water, but what they do have is all in play. The club house is nice. The 18th at Beaver River is the best finishing hole I have played except maybe 18 at TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course.

Short course, always in great shape

Played here several times and the greens are always perfect. Fast and smooth.. Thats one of the best qualities of the course. It's a great little course but it's just not long enough. It takes driver out of your hands on most holes. Lots of par 4's just require an iron off the tee and then a short iron to the green. And that is from the back tees!! There are some driveable par 4's. Even though it's short, it's not a necessarily easy course. If you're not careful it can bite you. The greens are challenging but fair. If you're looking for a well conditioned course that you can really have fun with, this is it. Great 18th hole!
