I play this course quite regularly and find it to be very well maintained and managed. Yes, leagues rule at ALL public courses. Just like they do at bowling alleys. To avoid league congestion, you must play at different times than the leagues. As for keeping a tee time open behind someone because they are beginners, are you for real? Thats why there are country clubs. For the money, this is one of the best golf courses in the Pittsburgh area.

A good course for the price, but league golfers are like Kings and you will be told to wait, even after you make the turn.

My family and I will never golf this course again! It is poorly managed and good luck finding a level spot on the tee boxes. Throughout the course, it is very difficult to determine your yardage. It's all a guessing game. BTW, the leauges have priority over all other players on the course. They will let you pay for a round and then on the turn, inform you you must wait for all of the "very slow" leaguers to tee off. Needless to say, you will not make your final 9 holes that you paid for! I will never go back to this course. There are by far many more superior courses within close proximity for the same price.

The course is beautiful and relatively open. Some of the courses are a bit too close together: other people would lose balls on the course we'd be playing. Some of the lawns are a bit dried out, though the green and fairway are very well maintained. However, the service we received was mixed.

We had made a reservation for 4 people and had asked for an opening behind us (2 of the 4 of us were novices). The woman on the phone said it wasn't a problem. When we arrived the next day, the receptionist said that she didn't know of any arrangement like that and that we should come back at 6pm (it was 2pm). She loudly told the next person in line that people like us shouldn't be coming to this golf course, that we should only go to par 3s and most importantly, not waste her time. The next person in line commented that we were nearby and could probably hear her comments. She responded, "I know." This is pretty awful behavior in general, though it may not be the typical case....

One of the nicest courses in the middle of nowhere. Nicely kept greens and if you are above the hole then you are dead. Lengthy at times.

Wide open course. Very slow play on weekends. Good price. Pretty flat for a Pittsburgh course. Greens were okay. Tee boxes are not too good. Fairways are average.

I have to say I really like this course as it is a great walking course. It isn't very difficult and fairly wide open as It does have some water and sand but generally an easier course. A great course to make you feel good about your game though and the price is right.

My favorite course in or around Pittsburgh

I've been playing this course for about five years and am still not sick of it. Although it plays relatively easy, it is still a very enjoyable track. It does tend to get crowded so be sure you have a tee time. Even then, they don't space the tee times very far apart so you could spend five hours plus on a saturday or sunday morning getting your round in. All in all, its a nice course, and cheap!!
