do not like courses where the only flat spots are the tee boxesw. far too many sloping fairways.. too many blind approach shots... inaccurate yardage markers... greens tricked up and for some reason, the hole was not cut for a week.. (overgrown) qnd they were rolling at about a 10-12... Slow play as hacker foursome refused to let us play thru. (no ranger on course). Best part of the day was the food afterwards in the restaurant.

Played the course for the first time and I will be back soon. Conditions were very good and I can't say enough about the staff - they actually seem like they care. Great mature course with a challenging layout that punishes you if you deserve it. Tight fairways but not unreasonable. No easy holes - you have to locate the ball - not just aim center of green. Greens were a little slower than I expected. In my opinion, one of the best in Berks County at a fair price.

I have played Reading Country Club since it fist went public. The best experience used to be the greens. They were lighning fast. Now they have slowed them to the point that Reading is just another contender for the golf dollar. Why not put them back to what they were? Number six and number twelve used to play havoc on a poorly placed shot on the green. How many course can say if you hit the green you might be in a worse predicament than if you miss the green? But alas they have dummied the course down. The club house is grand but who goes to a course for the club house? If you are in the area it is convienent but I wouldn't go too far out of my way play it.

great staff.good scenery.good value. great course. the staff was polite enough to let us have the twilight rate at 1 pm when it doesnt start until 2. very little waiting for other players. the scenery has creeks,up-hill, down-hill lies. the clubhouse is very nice. the difficulty IT IS. legends like byron nelson played here. and the scorecard is very well balanced.

This is a typical old style course, for east Pa. There are tight fairways, short holes. There are a few very difficult holes, but each hole is fairly stright forward. There are bunkers on every hole and come into play. Overall great course, Byron Nelson was head pro at one time...must be good!!

i'm sure glad i live near here....not too long, but a nice tough lil course. Choose your shot wisely...also, you'll be walking along the same grounds that Byron Nelson once did.
