Played here Sept 23, 2013. The greens need major repair. I think the last 3 holes of our 18 were the better greens. Won't pay the regular rate of $40. We paid $25 (cart, fees, tax all incl).

The east course should be closed until greens are repaired. The assistant pro should take classes in customer care and learn how to address people properly. After playing the east course, which has 2/3 of it's greens damaged beyond play and the 17th hole close with no advertisement of either, I asked to play nine on the west course. I did so only because we could not putt on 2/3 of the east course and since it was already 5:30pm and the course was empty it seemed reasonable. We were told to do so would require paying again and we should not have asked to play the east course. I explained that reservations were made on line and I had no such request. I added that no one in the pro-shop informed us of the damage and we were not looking for a handout just what we had payed to do. We wanted to play 18 holes of golf and we were only able to play 8. He was very rude to the point that I had to leave to avoid further confrontation! I therefore would never recommend anyone playing any golf at this establishment!

My buddies and I recently played this course 2 times on an extended golf weekend (together with 4 rounds on the less desirable - in my opinion - West course). The group consisted of both lower, mid-level and higher handicap players (with myself in the latter category). Unlike my review of the West course at Pocono Manor, I would consider coming back to play this course again. I note that some in our party of 10 were not enamored with the East course, but most of us preferred it greatly to the West. The detractors did not like some of the quirky design features of East, including the blind tee shots, elevation changes, etc. It is exactly those design features that I did prefer in addition to the better course conditions on this course. The West course is absolutely boring in comparison to this one!

The East course was in great shape for late summer/early fall. Though sadly, the 77-yard par 3 hole #7 was already closed for aeration. Rather, we played the temporary par-3 between holes 1 and 3 - which was fine except for the fact that you were guessing yardage off the tee (it's about 135 yards from the whites) without a range finder. Overall, the tee boxes, fairways and greens of East are a vast improvement over the West course. Approach shots will actually hold on the greens here which was a pleasant surprise after 2 rounds on the other before we had the opportunity to play here.

My biggest complaint about the East course is that there was never a ranger in sight. At one point, we caught up with a group of six golfers in 3 carts all playing together. Luckily, they let us play through with a smile on their face and our round picked up some pace after that.

Again, I do have to say that the staff was generally friendly although service overall at the resort was extremely slow.

If you do decide to go to Pocono Manor, I would recommend the East Course but not the West (at least more than once). If I do ever return, I will only be replaying the East course.

Course was in pretty bad shape when we played. Even with a discount from the Tee Time Pass (paid $30) I still feel like I got ripped off. Greens were all torn up and under repair. Several tee boxes were just dirt. Layout is nice but gimmicky in some spots (#7 is a 77 yard par 3 where you are teeing off about 50' above the hole). Food and drink carts were around a lot. If you have the money, $50 on a weekend, head to Mountain Laurel in White Haven where you get a gorgeous and well maintained course for the same price.
