THE NEW CLUBHOUSE IS OPEN!!! The new clubhouse is a vast improvement and now matches the caliber of the course. Whitetail is a challenging golf course. As others have said, your scores will improve after your first time out. For the money, you can't find a nicer course in the area. Beautiful mountain views and many elevation changes. They have a great irrigation system, so the fairways and greens remain lush while other courses get dried out and brown (unless they are fighting a grass disease as they did some last year). Membership rates are very reasonable, also. My son and I have been members for 3 - 4 years and love it.

One of my favorites courese in PA. I've played here about 5 times and I keep going back for the scenery, value, and great golf and I live 1 1/2 hours away in MD. Tough course for a 1st timer but once you play through it once, you'll get the hang of it. I'm a 2 hdcp golfer and when I first played the course, I shot 83 and on the second time around I shot more toward my hdcp. Conservative play is in order on this course, but you could definitely take advantage on the par 5's. Good luck.

Played here 9/23 Course in very good condition, but with cartpath only on 4 holes makes for a long day. Also many blind hazards. Course needs yardage book for first time players....would speed up play. Club house 2 trailers Dont expect fancy resort type. Would play again if in the area.

A course I discovered by accident became my favorite course anywhere. There is something special about this place. Make the drive to Central PA, come early and play 36. The course is always well maintained and is now well-managed. Outstanding design, good value and a great location.

We played here on 4 Nov 07 for only 27 dollars-------and on a SUNDAY! Great value !! Staff were very courteous and accomodating. The course was in pretty good shape and the scenery was nothing short of beautiful. I loved the back nine- holes 12 thru 16 - on the side of the mountain among the trees and the fall colors really enhanced our enjoyment . This course will occupy your mind so much that you will experience temporary amnesia of anything outside the course. Greens were in good shape and deceptively sneaky, as were the distances to the pin - I'm not sure whether to call it "Optical Illusion" or "Optical Delusions". Hazards are "everywhere" so bring your "straight game" or "ball donations" . Front nine has "gripitripit" holes but once you "go to the mountain", its better to be a little conservative and "take your medicine" gracefully (hah!!!). This course will always be one of my favorites........good luck.

Played here 10-31-07 for $18 on Senior Day. What a great deal!! Course is in great shape, and as noted above, scenery is spectacular. Course is very tough for a first-timer, as there are many hidden surprises. By my ocunt, ten of 18 holes have a hazard of some sort crossing the fairway, be it a creek, heavy "stuff", or a pond. Lots of bunkers, too. Second time players will probably improve scores by six or so shots. Clubhouse is bare-bones, but the staff is excellent. I highly recommend this course...and also suggest you play whatever tees are realistic for you. This is not a place to grip and rip. Good luck!

A course with a lot of different owners...changes from year to year. This is a gem of a course! The scenery is spectacular, especially on the back nine where several holes are played on the mountain. This is a course that offers a challenge to both long ball hitters and those not so inclined to hit so far. Strategy comes into play on most holes and you must choose your clubs very carefully. Long drives can be rewarded by losing one's ball in thick helps to know the course! There is little room for forgiveness for the errant shot...long grass awaits to feed on stray balls off the fairway. This is a true test of golf...but the conditions are perfect! For me, it's the most enjoyable golf in Franklin County due to the scenery and strategy. It's been quoted numerous times that if this course were closer to the cities, they could ask a lot more for a with a coupon, Whitetail can be a real bargin for its quality! Highly recommended!!!!
