Great hidden jem. Bring your own beer.

Like the course. Greens are in great shape. Pin placements could be a little more golfer friendly.
Very enjoyable course.

A Work in Progress

Played here 4-30-07 for the first time. Relatively new course (opened in 2000), and still rough around the edges. Design is OK, but there are some holes with tee boxes and greens in very close, and dangerous, proximity (as in #3 and #4, for one set). Lots of marshy areas that really need to be drained for this to be considered a first-rate course. Good use of elevation changes, and the creek: course is walkable for a senior in reasonable shape. New clubhouse is not yet in use: still operating out of a double-wide: pro shop thinly stocked, and the snack bar is minimal. Staff was pleasant, though, and that counts for something. Course is relatively short at 6203 from the back tees, but is very tough, with a 133 slope, which is well deserved. Tee boxes were in nice shape; fairways were good; rough was pretty long and punitive; bunkers were thin and unpredictable; greens are medium large, with modest contouring, and on 4-30, were pretty slow. A couple of holes border on unfair, due to lack of reasonable landing area off the tee: #12 is about the worst of these. #14 is a very tough hole, from the back tees, it's 454 yards UPHILL, and the tee shot is up throgh a very narrow chute. Good luck on this one! Some very pretty holes, too: #10 is worth a picture, and so is #17. In a few more years, with added maturity and some maintenance effort in the soggy spots, this will be a really fine track. The course is well out in the country, but easy to find, and worth the trip. I recommend it.
