Layout is pretty good if you play the tips. Way too vanilla from the whites. Course is always in great condition. That's what keeps us coming back 2-3 times a year despite their lack of specials/coupons which I usually take advantage of at similar courses in the area.

Absolutely one of the best courses in the area

Fairways were very soggy, greens could have been in better shape. Not bad for this time of year and better than other courses in the area.

Shot course from the white tees, Just under 6000 yards. Greens could have been in a little better shape, but for this time of the year not too bad. Fairways were in good shape, no bare spots on fairway but hole 15's fairway was quite soggy. Good course for practice and a lower score is achievable.

A Very Nice, Newish Course

Scenic Valley is a fairly new course that is well-maintained and has some really nice looking holes. The price is a little higher than other courses of its ilk (i.e. shortish courses), but it is also in better shape than most of them, and has a much more interesting layout.

The clubhouse has a small pro shop and restaurant, which is more than most of the other courses in the area. The course layout is nice in terms of overall hole design, but the hole progression at times is confusing. You might feel like you're driving all over the place. The 10th hole feels like it is a mile from the clubhouse. The main advantage this course has over others that are similar is that it has memorable holes, especially #18, which is a par 5 that requires you to go over a lake on your second shot. The greens are typically pretty fast, frustratingly so on a couple of holes. Overall, a very nice course.

Not a bad course

Nice design, a bit short and easy in places. Greens are sloped and usually slick, providing the most efficient defense for some short 300-350 yd par 4's. Conditions sometimes a bit patchy. Four, seven and fifteen arenice par 4's and eleven is an impressive, challenging par 3. Some funky holes, several short holes. The last is an interesting par 5 where the tee shot is critical. Overall a nice course, but certainly not set up to challenge the better golfer.

if you like to walk, forget it

The people I've met at this course have been friendly, but that's not nearly enough to bring me back. And that's too bad, because the location is handy. The distances and elevation changes between some holes make walking out of the question -- unless you're a mountain goat. There have been severe maintenance issues on at least two holes every time I've been there, also. But, in fairness, I haven't been there for a while, so maybe they have the bald spots and dirt tee boxes fixed by now.
